Beautiful PicturesStrengths: 1) Great looking pictures. 2) Prints on paper and CDs. 3) Cost of printer. Weakness: 1) Cost of ink. 2) Ink not water resistant. Great product for the price except that the ink is not water resistant. Any moisture on your hands will smuge the picture. I'm surprised how easily the ink will smear. 78% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Professional looking CDsStrengths: Even though it is sold as a photo printer, it does print directly on CDs, and they look sharp and professional. A must have for any musician interested in promoting his music. Weakness: It takes time, but it does its job very well. The reason I bought this unit was because I got tired of trying to paste CD labels on my CDs.. 76% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Not a Good PrinterStrengths: Good print quality Weakness: Ink runs out after 50 DVDs (25% coverage) for a cost of $1.50+ per DVD for ink. If you are planning on printing DVDs or CDs, best look elsewhere. I am not happy to have to trash 2 of these because of high ink costs. No indication when purchasing that the ink supply is so small. 71% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Epson has upped your costs.Strengths: Few, compared to previous models Weakness: Frequent cleaning required, Ink costs doubled at least, colors are way off. This is my third Epson Photo Printer (hate their designed obsolescence, but I need to print on CD/DVDs). This is the worst one of them all. Ink cartridges cost twice as much and last half as long. Head Cleaning is required frequently to use up your ink even faster. Stick with the older versions of this printer... the R200 or R220. 70% of readers found this review helpful. Worst Epson printer everStrengths: Hardly any Weakness: Clogged heads, uses ink rapidly, when runs out of ink it stops in mid-page I have purchased a ton of Epson printers and this is the absolute worst one ever. It runs through expensive ink faster than any model I have ever owned. It gives no warning when ink is low and then when ink is out it stops in mid-page wasting ink and paper. The heads constantly need cleaning (with Epson ink) and each time you add a new cartridge it may require head cleaning to get the colors right. Often heads clog in mid-job and you start getting wierd colors and if you don't constantly watch printouts you waste even more paper and ink. Epson must be getting massive complaints on this one. 60% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Nice printerStrengths: High resolution, print fast Weakness: ink was used out too fast. I used this printer to print the pictures for my family. The printed pictures are nice and have high quality. But the ink was consumed too fast. Anyway, for the price, you can not expect too much. I am satisfied with this printer with its low price. Hope the ink catridge is not so expensive. 57% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Epson R260Strengths: Direct CD printing, High picture quality, speed is acceptable Weakness: ink too expensive, bulb volume I am just thinking to buy this printer as a backup for my photo printer. It is in promotion so the price is very cheap. It really give me a surprice on the picture quality. A good quality photo printerStrengths: Hi definition, high quality printed photo. Easy to print cover for CD/DVD. (Much easier comparing to print a DVD label and attach the label to your DVD) Weakness: Seems like drink a lot of ink A little bit bulky I used this printer to print out our summer vacation digital photos @ Hawaii. QUALITY DOES NOT COME CHEAPStrengths: EXCELLENT PRINT,GOOD COLORS Weakness: None,I wonder why there is no USB cords with printers now a days it does not cost much when compared to the whole cost of the printer, feels odd. I bought this printer and have printed more than 30-40 prints, the colors are excellent if you compare to @19c per print(in shops) this is much better and for some time I felt as a professional photographer with this printer. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Great CD Inkjet PrinterStrengths: WOW! It does a beautiful job everytime. Easy formatting for CD's. Even though this printer does much more but I purchased it to print directly onto my CD's. Print is very smooth. Weakness: Ink is expensive, but you only replace an individual color as needed. So it's not that bad. Thanks Epson! Very professional printing; hi-definition says it all. The only hassle has been getting best price for each component. The printer, inkjet CD's, and ink were each ordered from different distributers. It pays to shop around. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Nice photo printerStrengths: Nice printing pictures, fast printing speed Weakness: Epson ink is too expensive. This printer is easy to set up and use. The printing quality is quite good, especially for photos. Furthermore, it can be used to print on CD or DVD, which is quite a bonus for me. However, the ink cost is too high, and I can only give 4 stars for it. Well, if you don't care about the ink cost, this may be the right photo printer for personal use. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Epson R260 Printer ReviewStrengths: Using Epson R260 to print on CD or DVD media is very easy. It comes with Epson's Claria six-color, dye-based ink system and the photos printed on photo paper looked very good. Weakness: The ink cartridges are expensive and difficult to refill. If you are looking for a small and inexpensive printer, the Epson R260 would be one of your best choices because it gives you superior photo quality, versatility and performance right at home. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Great CD printer!Strengths: 1. reasonable price, 2. cheap ink cartridge, 3. print on CDs Weakness: Ink is not water proof I got it for free with camera purchase after rebates. So I'm satisfied with the price. I do not know why some reviews are complaining about cartridge, it is very cheap on ebay! At least, far cheaper than HP! I do like the feature to print on CDs, it makes the CD so professional! Photo quality is also good. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Epson Stylus Photo R260 a good replacement for the...Strengths: Awesome print quality, even better than the R200 and R300 series, prints on ink-jet printable cds and dvds Weakness: Uses ink fast, no off-brand ink yet available I bought this to replace my R220 since Epson claims it offers higher resolution printing than its predecessor. I think that's true and the discs I've printed are evidence of that. Unfortunately it also sucks ink like a parched elephant sucks water, and with there being no off-brand replacement ink yet available (should be by Jan. '07) it's expensive to operate. I say by it on sale and then use it sparingly until you can get good generic ink for it down the road. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Nice Printer for the priceStrengths: Good printer, impressive better looking Professional prints. Better than cannon pixama. Quality buy. Weakness: Different ink types, Costly. Not a general purpose printer. If you are looking for quality stuff and do not mind spending some extra bucks for the ink (anyways that is the way for them to make money, right"); this is for you. Yields better results than other so called high resolution printers. Definitely worth trying it out ... 40% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Nice !!Strengths: Very nice printer...Reproduction is very perfect ! Price paid was great at Ritzcamera. Weakness: Bulky..Heavy to lift. Should come with USB cable. I received my new printer today. Its awsome. The color contrast was the best. I would have preferred it to be little istead of being a little bulky. I would highly recommend this printer to anyone. 40% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Epson Stylus Photo R260 PrinterStrengths: Great Prints,Professional looking when printed on High Luster Paper Weakness: It has trouble reconizing Epson Cartridges, Uses way too much Ink at a very high Cost. With all the weakness I would still use this printer but the Printer Stopped working for no reason, tells me all my ink cartridges are empty. After calling Epson, and doing all they said to do, I was told to take it to repair shop. I figure the repair might cost near what a newer Printer would cost. This is one of two R260 Printer I own, Plus I own a RX580 and a RX680 all which use the same kind of inks. So I think you can understand my disappointment in the R260, because I use it a lot. I like this printer!Strengths: Very Good photo quality, Software installs easy with XP and Visa, Never has conflict with generic ink, Prints at a good rate of speed Weakness: Ink heads get dry sometimes but easy to do a head clean a couple of times. People have been complaining about the ink being used up quick, but all Epson printers use up ink quick. One printer may use up more than the other, but they all use up ink quick and it also depends on the quality of the print job. If you use plain paper with a normal mode all the time, you won't use up all that much ink. I print a lot of high quality photos so I buy generic ink and it works just fine. Other older Epson printers had a problem with generic ink, but not the 260. If you come across a problem with the print pattern, just have the printer clean it's ink heads one or two times and it takes that problem away. I do like this printer out of all the other ones that I've owned. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great printer at a great priceStrengths: Excellent quality printing for cds and dvds Weakness: recharges cartridges every time you turn it off and back on, this uses a lot of toner. I have been very happy with this printer. Shop around, there are many deals right now where if you buy a digital camera and epson printer on the same receipt you can get the printer for free after rebate. Wish I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'d seen that a week earlier. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Epson Stylus R260 Photo PrinterStrengths: CD printer Weakness: Ink supply after installing as per manufactures book, found that you need to leave printer on all the time or it will use all your ink up even if you dont print a documenton it, as it pumps ink from cartradges every time it is turned on. Epson Stylus R260 Photo PrinterStrengths: Great quality prints on any medium I have tried Weakness: Naturally, the price of ink. This is a fast photo printer. My first one. OEM ink prices are draw back but that is how they recoup their money in the long run. With a little searching you can keep your operating costs low, for home use. I got more prints from original cartridges then some of the detractors have stated. Sure beats my first color printer (HP) that I bought more than a decade ago & cost more than $500. very pleased with high quality prints
Strengths: highest quality photo prints, very good contrast
Weakness: bad ink economy
Like many people shopping for a printer this holiday season, I was also
curious about the Epson r260 printer, but was somewhat dismayed by the many
negative posts I've seen around the web. What I did notice, however, is that
most of the comments were related to cost, and what I am looking for is
highest quality, regardless of cost. So, I went out and purchased both a Canon
Pixma ip6700D and a Epson r280. I also bought a whole extra set of ink
cartridges for each printer, and bought the highest quality premium photo
paper for both Epson and Canon. Here are my results:
After playing with both printers for the last 4 days, I have to say the Epson
is noticeably a better quality photo printer. Now, this is with both printers
set to the 'highest quality' print using the printer settings, and using all
rcommended highest grade paper. I was actually slightly disappointed that the
Canon Pixma ip6700D, with it's claimed 9600x4800 dpi, did not show a
signficant difference in print to my other $50 Canon Pixma ip1600, using
again, all highest quality components. The Canon, however, has a much better
ink economy.. just last night, I printed 80 4x6 prints for Christmas to send
Japan, and my cartridges were still not 100% empty. That bit, I was impressed.
The Epson does use much more ink, and if ink cartridge costs are a major
concern for you, then you may want to consider the Canon ip6700D instead. With
the Epson though, the images are noticeably higher contrast, and I can see
minute fine details where I would not on the Canon. Now, having said all this,
all three printers I mention here are more than good enough for the average
family. In fact, the prints I get off the $50 Canon ip1600 are so high in
quality, that I wonder if it's worth getting the $200 Canon ip6700D. I have
not printed any 8x10s, nor used the printers to test for text only, or
business documents. This review is based solely on photo printing on 4x6
prints.
If you are a quality seeker, and cost is not an issue, I recommend the Epson
R260.
