Sony Studio Monitor MDR-V300 Headphone

Strengths: Look nice. Sound pretty good.

Weakness: Really uncomfortable after short usage. Doesn't fold up sufficiently.

Some have complained about the bass being overdone on these headphones. Perhaps I like bass more than them, but the sound on these headphones is not the problem. They sound fine.

The problem is that you cannot wear them for long without your ears hurting from excessive pressure. Also, when you try to carry these headphones in a backpack or something they do not really fold up that well (and don't stay folded) and so they are consequently both easy to break and hard to carry around.

The cord is sufficiently long and the connectors look great. I wouldn't buy them again because they just hurt.

Pointless design

Strengths: Booming techno sound, Quality of cable.

Weakness: actual headphone design structure

Although okay headphones for your techno music, these headphones shouldn't be considered for these reasons.

1. The wires are coming out both ears, therefor getting in your way, constantly. Most headphones now have it connected through only one.
2.The ear cups are made to look like a fully enclosed headphone. They are NOT, these headphones rest on top of your ears, creating a very loose yet uncomfortable feeling. They fall off easily, they create discomfort, they direct the sound into the pad instead of your ear.

To be honest, this headphone was actually designed to be stylish. I remember visiting Best Buy a few years back seeing a very common image of models wearing these headphones enjoying music. This was designed to get the population interested in higher quality, fully enclosed headphones without the bulky, dorky look of them. Consider these headphones a fake as far as sound quality goes. I must admit though, the campaign worked on me. I now love fully enclosed headphones and just purchased SENNHEISER 280 Pro headphones.

Sony Studio Monitor MDR-V300 Headphone

Strengths: Great sound clarity, booming bass, attractive design

Weakness: A bit uncomfortab A bit uncomfortable due to firm grip these have on your head, but that may lessen with usage.

Haven't had these for long but my initial impressions are very positive. Using it with my iPod and getting substantial bass and all around good acoustics. Appear to be solid with rugged plastics.

Sony Studio Monitor MDR-V300 Headphone

Strengths: not too bulky

Weakness: Uncomfortable and bass sound

My biggest complaint about these headphones is they are very uncomfortable. I didn't expect the sound to be outstanding for the price but I thought Sony could do a better job about blending the bass so it didn't hinder the detail.
