Good sound but noisy mechanismStrengths: Very good sound reproduction Weakness: "Cassette" mechanism noisier than it should be Adapters like this need an interior mechanism that keeps the player from thinking the nonexistent tape is at the end, whereupon it will either stop or auto-reverse. This one's mechanism is actually louder than a real cassette tape would be and is quite audible when the music is not very loud. 0% of readers found this review helpful. Belkin Cassette Adapter
Strengths: Solid sound
Weakness: Noisy mechanism, flimsy wire
The sound reproduction with the casstette adapter is fine for a typical car radio. I think the higher frequencies are somewhat attenuated, but it won't make a big difference unless you have a high end system (in which case, you probably have a real iPod connector anyway). The spinning mechanism is a bit noisy, so I have to turn soft music up louder to make it less noticeable. The wire is a little flimsy and sometimes gets caught when I pop the cassette out, but a tug on the wire pulls it out easily enough.
