TRENDnet 1-Port Print Server

Strengths: Works great once configured.

Weakness: Included software is not straight forward.

The installation software for the server worked fine out of the box. The only problem I had was when I installed the "peer to peer" software on my Windows ME computer, I got a "spool32" error. Once I uninstalled this software and installed the printer manually as a network printer, everything worked well. I am very satisfied with this product.

windows me is probably the worst operating system that exists. something free such as Linux from http://www.opensuse.org is much better.

TRENDnet TE100P1U Printer Server

Strengths: A useful way of sharing a single printer with multiple printers, without having to turn on a seperate computer.

Weakness: Difficult to set up using the given instruction manual.

The unit functions very well if you can get through set up. It is extremely important to have the latest printer driver. The instruction manual sets up
the server network, but does not set up a new printer. I was given www.trendnet.com to find help. In their FAQ section they give a step by step
instruction on how to set up a new printer. With some patience I have been able to get two computers on line to print. The unit works very well, but is not something for a new computer user to attempt.

TRENDnet TE100P1U Print Server

Strengths: Easy set-up,low cost.

Weakness: none

I set this print server up to operate from 4 computers on my network in less than an hour. I am using a Canon ip2000 printer. I can detect very little delay in accessing the printer through the server. It's the best $35 I ever spent!

Trendnet TE100-P1U 10/100Mbps Mini Print Server with...

Strengths: None

Weakness: Doesnt work with all printers

After three calls to Trendnet, they finally told me it does not work with Epson C84 printer. Nowhere in the oneline information about this product does it tell what printers it works with.

TRENDnet 10/100Mbps Mini Print Server with 1 USB...

Strengths: price is reasonable, and easy to install

Weakness: can't think of

I had a commercial laser and cost lots of money to replace parts, and finally decided to use a low price ink jet printer, Canon Pixma ip6600D shared by five/six printers. It was easy to install and use. For some reasons, I can't connect one notebook. Some the ones connected, it works fine.

Yet another Print Server

Strengths: Lets you share multiple printers over LAN

Weakness: Not easy to set up

I bought this device to share my printer with multiple computers over LAN. The print server has a default IP address which conflicts with my existing router. The print server does let me change the IP address but it automatically resets to the default IP address and results in an IP address conflict, and I loose internet connectivity.
When it works, it did not give any problem with respect to identifying the printer and worked well. The accompanying software is not the best. Good for home and basic user use, not recommended for advanced users.

Working great after configuration

Strengths: Working fine with wireless Network with direct connect to Router.

Weakness: Included manual has some steps are not clear.

Unit is functioning well for last week. Working fine after assigning IP address of network and then setup printer with TCP/IP port from any computer you want to set printer to. This is the best cheaper printer server you can get after rebate.

Good basic USB print servers

Strengths: Small, simple to set up

Weakness: Like all print servers, they need to be restarted every once in a while

This is a good basic print server, but it doesn't support advanced features like bidirectional communication. I knew that before I bought this device so it's not really a negative.

TRENDnet 10/100Mbps Mini Print Server with 1 USB...

Strengths: Rebate + it worked finally

Weakness: Tech support documentation

The product finally worked after a long process of my investigation. Don't bother calling tech support your just wasting your time. Go to the website and look in the support knowledgebase for your answers. There are also more than 1 version of this model plus updated firmware and driver/utilities of which you don't even need if your using the web configuartion utility.

Fully satisfied my expecations

Strengths: Simple installation and setup.

Weakness: None... it worked as advertised.

I read several reviews after I placed my order and was somewhat concerned that I would have difficultly getting this print server to work. To the contrary, it arrived today and I followed the instructions and had everything up and running in a matter of minutes. The configuration of the IP address for the print server was simple and the set up of drivers under XP was a snap. I had been using my multifunction printer as a stand along copier and fax, simply because it was not located near a computer. Now I can use the printer from anywhere on the network. Very pleased and a good value after rebates, etc.
