Don't be fooled - Not worth your money
Strengths: The looks
Weakness: Everything else!
I bought an XDMR7710 because of the looks. It was snazzy, with sleek lines and a cool motor-driven drop down faceplate. All very nice. What a shame that Dual didn't actually put more effort into the actual technology. First off, the unit didn't fit right in my car (2004 Hyundai Tiburon, nothing too advanced). While this wasn't a tremendously big deal, it was overshadowed by skipping problems. Unless you live in sunny California where the weather is always hot, don't expect the XDMR to play your discs right. In colder weather, this thing skips....BADLY! In fact, the anti-skip technology that Dual boasts in this unit is practically non-existent. Songs skip terribly, sometimes getting stuck on one section, repeating over and over again. Most of the time, the player would be in the middle of one song, and then all of a sudden, it would jump to the very end of the CD, almost 45 minutes in difference, and start playing the middle of THAT song instead. It truly is inexcusable. So, don't let the cool looks fool you. Dual is a company that you should best AVOID at all costs. Stick with a reputable brand like Pioneer or Sony. Don't fall for this Mickey Mouse company.
