KIDDE ALARMStrengths: LOUD / CLEAR Weakness: NONE I HAVE FOUND THIS ALARM TO BE LOUD AND CLEAR, I FEEL SAFE AT HOME AND TRUSTING OF THIS ALARM SYSTEM. Combo value KIDDE 900-0102Strengths: No need to clutter space with separate smoke and CO alarm, it talks very clearly, 5 yr warranty Weakness: No LCD display of CO reading I was attracted by the fact that it is a combo. But I now learned that the smoke alarm is not dual sensing, ie. it doesn't sense both types of fires like the First Alert dual sensor does. Secondly for the CO function, it doesn't have a LCD reading to tell you the level of CO present (it will just sound out alarm and voice if it detects a certain unacceptable level). Another bad thing was the way the batteries must be installed--in certain order. It was hard to get batteries in at first. The big plus is that I don't have to have so many separate alarms in the house and for kids, this is a great alarm. Besides sounding alarm, it talks--it yells out Fire or CO or simply low battery. But in retrospect, for the money, and if I hadn't mind a no LCD unit, I would be better off getting no LCD AC plug in CO alarm (Kidde) and a separate dual sensing First Alert smoke alarm. So can't really recommend that this unit is for everybody. But then, better have one than not. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Ain't No Fries With This Combo?Strengths: 2-in-1 Detection Talking Alarm Dual Indicator Lights Hush Mode CO Peak Level Memory Tamper Resistant AA Batteries Weakness: No Emergency Light Can't Be AC Wired In 2007 my state enacted a law requiring Carbon Monoxide (CO) detectors. Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm 900-0102Strengths: easy to install, test, and operate. attractive look. digital voice is unique. Weakness: no digital display, but various chirps and voice alarms Great price on this item at BJ's club, less than $30. Very easy to install. Unique digital voice. Easy to test. Combo Smoke & Carbon Monoxide DetectorStrengths: Two sensors in one. Voice feature. Low battery warning. Weakness: None that I can see. Easy installation. Small light tells you it's working (blinks once 30 every seconds) Size of regular smoke detector alarm. Has test feature and hush button. Overall a very nice device. Low Battery Warning/Chirping
Strengths: Loud and clear
Weakness: Sucks Battery Dry Every 6 Months
This Smoke Detector is absolutely the worse! It needs a new battery every six months. Also had "low battery" warning after replacing with new batteries. Had to disconnect to get any sleep. Replacing with another brand that works!!
