Excellent Graphics Card

Strengths: 256MB DDR3 Memory, Dual DVI Support, PCI Express x16

Weakness: Takes a lot of power, No games included in box

This is a great video card. If you're looking for a high end graphics card, the ATI Radeon X1900 GT will satisfy your need. Take the step up an go with the 512MB if you have the money. Make sure however, that your power supply is enough to handle this graphics card. Check the power supply requirements on the box and with the power supply you have to make sure. Other than that, this video card rocks! No problems whatsoever. Games came out rendering nicely. Great Buy!

Best video card you can get in the $200 range

Strengths: Very fast core clock speeds and memory, good support & software (better than nVidia at least), great price/performance ratio.

Weakness: Still haven't found any yet. The drivers aren't the best, but nVidia's are worse so it's hard to take off points for that.

This card has run everything I've thrown at it so far. Temperatures aren't even that bad, and I love the real-time demos you can download from ATI.com. Really just scratches the surface of what this card is capable of. It's in my opinion, the best logical place to stop when you're going up the price ladder. Not quite as good as an X1950 of course, but the difference in price would not be worth the difference in power.

Great Product With A Great Price

Strengths: + High End Quality + Runs cool even with stock cooling + Pretty nice overclocker

Weakness: - Not quite as beefy (Power wise) as its other X1900 bretheren

I know some of the professional reviews for this card have been less than stellar, and that almost scared me into not getting it, I'm glad I did. I'm not sure what those reviewers were looking at, but what I'm seeing out of this card is amazing. In the end, is that not what you want out of your video card? Looks great and runs smooth while it does? Well that's what you get here.

ATI Radeon X1900 GT Video Card

Strengths: Worked without any problems, Graphics looked good

Weakness: Nothing in particular

The card worked well and when matched with a Spectre X22-WG LCD monitor, things looks pretty good. However, my son clearly likes it for his games, but this is clearly overkill for a normal web browsing/office work!

If not too careful, once can miss the requirement of a new power supply (this is not a comment on this card as every single graphics card has this problem). I had bought what I thought was a reasonable system from Costco, but it turns out it had only a 300W power supply and no PCI-E power connector even though it had a PCI-E empty slot. SO had to first change the power supply and then plug in this card.

The card is a tight fit, so I would advise that you first open up your computer and check that you have sufficient space. I ended up moving some of the PCI cards and leaving the slot next to the ATI card empty - otherwise the ATI card was touching the back of the PCI card (this is clearly a problem with the motherboard not leaving enough space but I suspect a lot of the motherboards have the same problem).
Second thing was there was a cable (looked like a USB/memory card/Firewire cable that was coming from the front of the PC box to the middle of the motherboard, this cable had little wiggle room and had to squeezed underneath the long ATI card. I barely made it. If your computer has cables that need to cross the ATI card you should check to see if there is sufficient play in them. The ATI card is pretty long (almost the length of the motherboard).

Overall very pleased and now to upgrade to Vista....

x1900 GT Review

Strengths: Many accesories; fast card; best card per dollar

Weakness: Only 256MB ram; fan exhausts into case; Not made for DX10

This is the fastest card I have ever owned. The weight of this card is as heavy as my motherboard.

Of course this is the weaker version of the x1900's, but it is still good enough to use 4x Anti-Aliasing (4AA) and 8x AF on Half Life 2 at 1600x1200 and do it at high smooth framerates.

X1900GT - under rated video card

Strengths: Great core/memory speed, R580 core, single slot design, good overclocking potential, possibility to unlock extra shaders.

Weakness: High temperature at full load, not 512MB memory and Nvidia 7900GT cheaper with comparable performance.

This card rocks especially with shader-heavy operations though it has only 36 shaders compared to 48 of those of X1900XT/XTX. It runs great at high quality with high resolution for games. Nvidia 7900GT is generally cheaper with similar performance.

If you could unlock extra shaders and overclock it a bit, you will get even better performance.

Sapphire Radeon X1900 GT

Forgoing its early victory in 3DMark05 and relatively strong showing in HL2: Lost Coast, the Sapphire X1900 GT didn't fare too well in the rest of the benchmarks.
