Apple iPod Headphones

Strengths: Cuts outside noise. Comes with multiple ear buds to fit different sized ears. Good sound quality

Weakness: Bass response could be better

Purchased these to cut out some of the outside noise. It was a nice improvement when flying on an airplane. Sound quality was good and the assortment of ear buds helped make for a good fit when in the ear.

Good, but slips out too much

Strengths: As others have noted, the sound quality is good...

Weakness: ... but the earpieces tend to slip out.

And when they do, the bass drops out. It's very annoying, and doesn't take all that long to happen, either, about a walk of a quarter mile (walking really accelerates the process). I'd recommend the Sony MDREX71SLWK headphones, which are about the same price but much more mechanically stable.

better than other in-ear phones

Strengths: great sound, design suits iPod, stays in ear better than other in-ear phones

Weakness: still not a perfect fit

I've always had trouble finding in-ear phones that would stay in my ear. While these aren't the most securely fitting, the rubber-like material and shape of the buds help keep them from falling out, and I haven't had too many problems keeping them in. Yes, there are three different size covers you can try, but the floppy material of these covers doesn't really give you much difference between the options (this is difficult to explain without seeing the earphones and covers..) The sound is fantastic. Overall, these are much much better than the earphones that come with the iPod and fit better than any other in-ear ones I've tried..

Apple iPod Headphones

Strengths: Multiple sizes for different ear sizes.

Weakness: None.

Multiple sizes for different ear sizes. Great sound quality, especially from something so small. Matches your iPod. Fits smaller ears better than the factory earbuds.

Apple iPod Headphones

Strengths: More comfortable than standard ear buds. Aesthetically pleasing - white looks like normal iPod headphones. Three sets of plug covers ensure a snug fit. Mid-range sounds are surprisingly clear.

Weakness: Higher-range sounds are distorted; lows are almost non-existent, but let's face it. If we wanted sound quality, we'd get Grado's or Senns or anything but these.

Again, if we wanted high-performance, audiophile-type quality, this would not be the right headphones to purchase. With these headphones, you get what you pay for. They are comfortable and are (in my opinion) simply a replacement part for your iPod (or other MP3 player). They have a shorter wire, so it's definitely made for walking with. I do not suggest these for runners; once you find the right size covers (there are three - L, M, and S) for your ears where the sound quality is good, you can't go running because they will simply slip out. I tried putting a larger size in to run with and they still moved too much for my liking. The actual "speaker" part of the in-ear headphone is tiny; if it slips it won't project sound at the right angle and you are just left with lost sound.

I think that reviews which say simply say "these sound good" are a bit TOO subjective. Let's just say if you're looking to replace your broken headphones for your MP3 player, these are very good. They sound better than the standard Apple ear buds and are much more comfortable, and I believe they are worth the money (I paid $40). If these were to go out, I may buy them again just for the comfort factor. These are NOT audiophile headphones as you are going to lose out on your crisp highs and low lows. For instance, "Pet Sounds" sounds clear, and the vocals are very good. If you press these suckers into your ear canal deeper, you'll hear brief attempts to recreate the high crisps of the tambourines and the lows of the bass. Otherwise, you probably won't hear them at all.

Apple iPod Headphones

Strengths: This product has three diffrent ear bud sizes to fit in your ear comfortably. Excellent Sound!!

Weakness: I have yet to find a weakness in this product.

I have small ears and have the hardest times with the standard buds that come with the Apple iPod. I found the small choice of three sizes availabe with this prduct fit my ears best. The three diffrent sizes are included in the package. They provide excellent sound!!The deep bass rich depth sound that you get is wonderful. Since the buds are in deep inside your ear you get high quality with low outside sound interfence.

Apple iPod Headphones

Strengths: matches iPod design, attractive appearance, has some sound isolating value without totally closing out the world. Also fits into my small ears much better than the bud that come with the iPod

Weakness: Bass response not as good as the stock buds.

My main reason for buying these aftermarket buds was to find a better fit for my small ears. The ones that came with my iPod kept falling out of my ears. I liked the fact that there were three sizes of buds to choose from. The smallest are perfect for my ears and stay in firmly when I jog.

Apple iPod Headphones

Strengths: Great sounds quality

Weakness: Though it comes with three different ear bud sizes, non of them fit my year. Not only did they not stay in when I was in motion, they did not stay in ever period, even if I was sitting still.

My biggest problem is getting the headphones to fit and having great sound quality while being able to exercise with them. I know everyone has different size ears, so it might work for you. I just know it did not work for me. But like I said the quality is really good.

Apple iPod Headphones

Strengths: really good sound price is good better sound then original buds good fit

Weakness: it can be tricky to "fit" first time, be persistent I have 2 of these and they both lost sound after a period of time (about 3 months)

my original buds keep on working but these seem to have problem with sound after a while.
As mentioned I have 2 of these both lost sound (sound disappeared on one side after using it for a while) , the volume level also got worse
I have now bought the Sony in the ear buds. A pity as the sound was really good in these and the price was OK

Not at all pleased with

Strengths: Looks good

Weakness: Do not fit me

For me I feel sorry to have bought it. It falls out of my ears only by holding them with my fingers in the sound is OK. In other words useless things for me.

Best Buy For The $$

Strengths: Good balance of bass & treble... Inexpensive ($40) ... Comfortable to wear for hours.

Weakness: I wear them so much, I have to watch out for ear-wax buildup on the protective stainless screen. I use peroxide and q-tips in my ears and to clean the screen from clogging, and to keep the sound quality.

I've been a pro-musician for many yrs & listen to music constantly for hrs a day. These Apple in-ear buds are my 2nd pair & are an excellent ver.2 I use them everyday. Noticed my 2nd pair has a slightly heavier wire-GOOD upgrade. I use a 90 degree attachment for the mini-plug so I can use the in-ears in multiple applications w/o stress to the plug/devices.
