Only the essentials!!!

Strengths: Solid construction, readable, reliable, stylish. Easy to operate.

Weakness: No way to turn off 'button beep' (which is loud), timer only goes to 59minutes and 59 seconds. Cheap box. Poor instructions.

Finally, a watch I can count on! As a self proclaimed 'fashionista' and degree-distinguished world class mathematician, I find it imperative that I am punctual in all my endeavors. The Casio a168w is the perfect, affordable way to achieve such a goal.

There is certainly no outfit which doesn't suit my Casio, and vise versa. The unit is slim enough to be neatly tucked underneath a nice button up, but yet thick enough to not look like a bandage wrapped around my wrist during a tennis game.

The water-resistant nature of the Casio is also very appealing, as it can withstand the torrential rainy season here in Los Angeles, CA - a feat many of my much more expensive timepieces cannot accomplish.

Unfortunately, however, do expect to pay another 5 dollars to get the device fitted for your wrist. Personally, I wear mine loose but such isn't the case for my colleagues.

Don't be fooled by the low price and the 'casio' brand, this watch is grade-a quality. Regardless of social strata, income level, or skin color, this is a must for ALL meanly men.

A168W1

Strengths: build quality, electro-luminescent backlight, metal band

Weakness: plastic case

this watch is a good value for its price. But given that it is not shock-resistant or water-proof, its thick squarish plastic case looks a little bit ugly.

I would say that this is a high-quality dispensable watch, something you will keep only 2-3 years until the battrey dies (by that time the plastic case will have a lot of scratches, and it would be cheapper to buy a new watch than to change the case). But this is a common problem for all Casio watches. At least this piece seem to have a solid metal band.
