Polaroid PDV0800 Portable DVD Player

Strengths: Silver case looks nice, push buttons feel like a good quality button, not cheap, comes with Li-ion batter, and extras.

Weakness: Screen looked a little blurry between lines and round curves on a high quality rental movie appeared stair stepped. Kawasaki 8.4" was superior and had none of the problems mentioned above.

I thought Polaroid was a mark of quality, but there are better choices out there. If I'd rank this player it would be a 6 on a scale from 1-10 on picture quality. 10 is high. Kawasaki 8.4" would be a 9-10. There is a noticeable picture quality difference. Audio on the Polaroid was not impressive, although I thought the location of the speakers would produce better audio quality, but was not impressed, when compared to the Kawasaki 8.4". Polaroid's Audio was 7 and Kawasaki's was 9, even thought the speakers were not facing the viewer. I would not buy this Polaroid since there is a better choice for the same price. I'll be returning the Polaroid.

Great Product

Strengths: Sound Quality is Great, Very nice clear picture, Easy to Operate

Weakness: None so far

I bought this product on Ubid, The kids love it, We even went out and bought the mount for the car. I think for $110 you cannot go wrong. They also give you the charger, remote and car adapter.

Poor quality LCD

Strengths: None

Weakness: The LCD display has a very cheap design. It's like I'm watching VHS instead of DVD quality on this screen. Even color adjustments has no quality.

You can buy cheap or bid this from known store and you get what you pay for. The display is not what you see in other branded one. Cheap design!

Strengths: none

Weakness: The screen is very dark once you finally get a picture. You have to open and close the unit several times before a picture is visable.

This unit is a good example of "getting what you pay for." The display doesnt work unless you open and close the unit several times. Then the screen is very dark. You need to manually add color everytime you eventually get a movie to appear. The game controller/games are very limited and fundamental. Bought this for long flights and road trips. The games do not entertain my son and the movie unit is too aggravating to watch movies. The sound is EXTREMELY poor. You must have unit very close to your ears to hear the movie and/or games.
