Connection Cable

Strengths: New In Box from OEM

Weakness: None

Cable was as advertised, New unit from the OEM. Seller even answered question about compatibility with my phone (Nokia 6133). When cable arrived, it plugged into my phone just fine and linked up with the downloaded software.

Great transaction, fast service. I will look at this seller again if I need other accessories.

Dave (if this is your name), I was wondering...I too have a Nokia 6133 phone and do NOT remember this being included in the box when my phone was delivered. Did you have to buy this separately

Cable Review

Strengths: relatively inexpensive

Weakness: I'm not sure it works.

I bought the cable to be able to download photos from my Nokia 6165i to the computer. I have all the right software, but I can't get it to work. I can upload and download my contact info, so the cable is probably fine, but I haven't been able to get to my photos. I want to stress this point -- the CA-53 Connectivity Cable may be just fine; the problem may be in my phone or in my brain.

Works great.

Strengths: Works great. Simple to use. Much cheaper than version with charger.

Weakness: Does not charge/power the phone.

Works great. Simple to use. Much cheaper than version with charger. Note, cable does not charge/power the phone; which might only be an issue if you constantly transfer a lot (+2 GB) of files back and forth.

It works...

Strengths: It works faster than Bluetooth

Weakness: It's a pop-port

Does the job perfectly adequately -- I can plug it into my phone, plug the other end into the computer, and Nokia PC Suite handles the rest.
-
Didn't think I'd need this b/c my phone has Bluetooth & I already have an adapter for my computer, but when transferring full MP3 songs it definitely was worth the purchase. Much faster transfer speeds.
-
Still, its pretty lame that I have to buy this instead of using a standard mini-USB cable b/c Nokia insists on having their proprietary connectors. As I've had other pop-port items break upon trying to take them out of the phone, I'm wary with this one.

Start Synching

Strengths: Easy transfer and synching between phone and PC.

Weakness: Took a few tries to get the plug in right on my particular phone model.

This cable made life so much easier by synching calender and contacts via Outlook. I can also store images to the Nokia PC Suite so I don't need to store them on my phone!

OEM Nokia Cable

Strengths: Appears durable and works as it should

Weakness: None found

Original Nokia USB cable in retail packaging. Connected to phone and worked with Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater without any problems. No need for charger connector as on the compatible Nokia phones the charger plugs in separately next to the data cable.

CA-53 Connectivity Cable

Strengths: Genuine Nokia cable

Weakness: None

This cable worked right out of the box--with my new Nokia 6133--as advertised. Used with the free download Nokia PC Suite, I am able to transfer data between my computer and phone with ease! I would definitely recommend this cable for anyone needing a CA-53 cable. This cost 1/10th what Nokia wanted from their website--for the exact same cable!

Simple data cable works great

Strengths: Quick, easy transfers between phone and computer Inexpensive if you shop around

Weakness: None

There's not really much to say about a simple data cable. It does what it should, namely transferring data back and forth between a Nokia cell phone (in this case, Nokia 6133) and a computer. Just plug one end into the phone and the USB end into the computer. Software can be downloaded from the Nokia website, although to transfer files such as images and music, you can go into "My Computer" in Windows - the phone, when connected, appears as a storage device.

I believe when purchased from Nokia, this cable is $59. That's insane. Just shop around on the internet and you can find it for under $10 WITH shipping. And we're talking genuine Nokia cable, not a generic copy.

I considering purchasing a Bluetooth adapter for my computer to facilitate data transfers instead, but it was more expensive than the cable. Granted, the Bluetooth adapter may be handier later if I get more Bluetooth devices, but for now, this is fine.

Good Product

Strengths: Interfaces well with the phone

Interfaces well with the phone. Works well with the nokia suites. Long enough, very sleek and flexible pin tips that prevent any damage to the phone. I am using a nokia 6233 multimedia edition

Nokia CA-53

Strengths: It's the original Nokia cable with the sealed packing.

Weakness: No Complaints

If I would want to buy the orginal Nokia coonnection cord from a Nokia store, it would have costed me at least 10 times the amount I paid to buy this one. Most importantly this cord is the authentic Nokia cord.
Works just fine with my Nokia E70!

Nokia Data Cable

Strengths: Plug and Play access to Contacts (i.e. phone list)

Weakness: Must download software first (but it is free)

BEFORE you connect your phone to your Windows XP computer using this data cable you must FIRST download the FREE software (from www.nokiausa.com/suppo...) and install it. If you do that then this is a plug and play solution. The software download procedure didn't list my phone as one of the compatible phones (the list is very small and only the very recent phones are on the list) but when I used it anyway it recognized my phone by model and was able to correctly access all of the data.

When the data cable connects the phone and the computer you will need to select (on the phone) which mode it should use. With the software installed you will want to select "Nokia" mode. Without the software you can only select memory mode and you will only see pictures and videos if you are lucky. With the software installed you will be able to see, edit, backup and restore all of you data including Contacts (i.e. phone list), and any non-copyrighted songs, pictures, videos, notes, and other multi-media data.

The data cable I received is a brand new original equipment Nokia cable of very good quality which connects to both ends securely. My total price including shipping and tax (none) was $9.33 using the cheapest delivery method (USPS) and I got it in 3 days. How can you complain?

CA-53 Connectivity Cable with Nokia 6133b (US...

Strengths: Works exactly as advestised. Easy to use.

Weakness: Does not charge phone battery.

The cable worked exactly as advertised to exchange data between the phone and a PC via USB connection. This was very helpful for downloading contacts, images, or music, and made backing up the ocntents of the phone very easy. On a Windows XP PC like mine, the only software required was Nokia PC Suite, which was a free download from the Nokia web site.

Not a defect, but it is unfortunate that the cable connection does not also charge the phone. Many phones can now be charged via such a data cable, which is very nice when traveling and already carrying a laptop since the phone charger can then be left at home.

It's a wire?

Strengths: Faster and more stable than Bluetooth or infrared connection.

Weakness: It's a wire.

Well, it's you're basic connectivity cable which most people can live without if your phone and computer both have bluetooth. However, it is nice to have it at home since the transfer rate is higher then bluetooth but then again, that's only if you have a stationary PC and you didn't want to buy a bluetooth adapter. In the long run, I'd go with the bluetooth adapter.
It's unfortunate thought that although this wire can be plugged onto some older nokia phones it will not work. :( Gotta get the CA-42.
