FCP412 Perculator Good - Cord CheapStrengths: Makes good tasting coffee fast Weakness: new style 3 prong cord is cheap New style 3 prong cord does not make good contact at the base of the unit. One of the contacts is overheating a bit and causing the plastic molding on the wire to melt. Farberware PercolatorStrengths: Fast and hot. Keeps coffee hot for a long time. Best percolator I have owned. Weakness: Center of heater well inside pot is difficult to clean. I have tried many percolators and dripolators and this one has been the best so far. I makes 8 cups very fast and hot. I haven't tried to use if for more than 8 cups but it should still work fast. FCP412 Percolator (12 Cup, Stainless Steel)
Strengths: Produces perfectly hot coffee. Fast perk.
Weakness: Should have an automatic shut off.
This perculator is a dream when you first own it. After 6 months of daily use, sometimes less time, the pot looses its heating ability and therefore the coffee is weak when poured...does not taste like it has been perked enough. I am on my 4th pot as of yesterday...when it works it is the best tasting coffee made at home. I noticed on this new pot that the plug has been changed to a three prong as well as three prong to put into the base of the pot. It has always been two prongs only...maybe this will make a difference.
