HP (Hewlett-Packard) No. 78 Tri-color Ink Cartridge

Strengths: Very good color reproduction

Weakness: Smudges, not water resistant

I own a HP Deskjet 932c which uses this ink and on photos, it's fantastic. Combined with hp high gloss paper, photos look amazing and you can only tell it's from a color printer if you look very closely. I know that it's an old printer and ink set, but a major downside is if you accidentally splash a picture, everything runs and gets sticky, making you print out another. Otherwise, the extra large size lets you leave the ink in there longer and not worry about running out in the middle when you have a bunch of pictures to print out. Plus, you can run the ink dry in these machines. Customer support is also very responsive. I had a cartidge die on me in the middle and had a replacement sent within a week.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) No. 78 Tri-color Ink Cartridge

Strengths: Color quality is excellant. Ordered from databazaar (utilizing PriceGrabbers), got a great price, and received the product 3 days after ordering!

Weakness: If you use this cartridge for photo printing, it doesn't last very long.

I have have owned two other HP printers that utilized this same cartridge, and had excellant luck with the quality of the color with each of them. Have never had a misfire (clog) with this cartridge. Would highly recommend.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) No. 78 Tri-color Ink Cartridge

Strengths: Ink quality and clarity is better than most remanufactured cartridges.

Weakness: The price is higher than remanufactured cartridges. If you use up only one of the colors in the tri-color cartridge, you have to replace the whole cartridge.

I have used both authentic HP cartridges and remanufactured or refilled cartridges. With the authentic cartridges you are relatively certain they will work right out of the box. With remanufactured cartridges, it's a crapshoot. Sometimes the ink is dried on the nozzles and they don't work unless you hold them over steam for a minute or so to unclog them. I have had them sent to me where they were totally empty! It can be a real hassle if you're dealing with a less-than-reputable company -- and there are plenty of them out there! If the quality of the ink matters to you, use HP cartridges. They're worth the extra money.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) No. 78 Tri-color Ink Cartridge

Strengths: This is a very good design

Weakness: None

This is a very good design for a print cartridge if you do not do a lot of printing it will save you money, because most printer head cost more than the print does. So every time you change cartridges you get new printer heads.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) No. 78 Tri-color Ink Cartridge

Strengths: Price

Weakness: None

I ordered a remanufactured HP C6578 Color Cartridge for my HP 970CXi Deskjet printer on 11/26/04 from 1 800ink.com. The package arrived within two days with free shipping. The total cost was $16.50. At this point I see no noticeable difference in ink quality between this cartridge and the original HP C6578 I used to buy and pay around $50.00 for. I don't know how long this cartridge will last but for it's price it has already more than paid for itself and it is still printing. I only wish I had tried 1 800ink.com replacement color cartridges earlier.

Great color. Have had no problems with this or previous ink cartridges ordered through pricegrabbers. I highly recommend buying ink cartridges and products through pricegrabbers at their very low prices.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) No. 78 Tri-color Ink Cartridge

Strengths: Price. HP's 78 large tri-color inkjet print cartridge, model C6578AN, for my HP Deskjet 990Cse sells for $54.99 at hp.com. 1800ink.com sells a remanufactured large cartridge for $16.85. You save 69.4%

Weakness: Availability. HP's cartridges are available at any office supply store. You must plan ahead to use 1800ink.com's cartridges since free shipping is by first class mail.

I purchased a remanufactured HP 78 large inkjet print cartridge, model C6578AN, for my HP Deskjet 990Cse from 1800ink.com for $16.85; HP’s retail price is $54.99. I ordered the cartridge from 1800ink.com on Sunday night and it was delivered to my mailbox by first class mail the following Thursday.

The cartridge was well packaged; a plastic protective piece covered the print heads and contacts. A sealed plastic bag enclosing the cartridge was further protected by the remanufacturer’s box. 1800ink.com shipped the box in a small padded envelope.

As far as I can tell, the remanufactured tri-color cartridge works just as well as a new HP cartridge. The box states that the cartridge was remanufactured by replacing HP’s ink with the remanufacturer’s ink. 1800ink.com claims that their cartridges either meet or exceed the original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM) specifications. 1800ink.com states that they offer a “100% Satisfaction Warranty.” This claim is also restated on the box that encloses the cartridge.

I have no complaints thus far, and the price break is good.

The review is supposed to be for an HP cartridge not a remanufactured one!

HP #78 38mL Tri-Color Ink Cartridge

Strengths: Large capacity, good color

Weakness: None

I ordered the HP #78 38mL tri-color ink cartridge from databazaar.com. Shipped in only three days. Easy to install and prints great. This is the 38mL large capacity cartridge but it will run out quick if you print a lot of photos.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) No. 78 Tri-color Ink Cartridge

Strengths: - great printing quality on any paper type - this large cartridge lasts twice as long as the standard

Weakness: - a bit expensive

I've have a deskjet 952c printer for 3 years now. I have tried using refurbrished ink cartridges with no satisfaction. Though these actual HP ones can get pricy, I found that any of the other ones that aren't from the name brand tend to much less clear when printing anything other than straight text on pages. I have also noticed that you can still print a bunch of color images even after the low ink light comes on.

HP inc #78

Strengths: Good value for the money

Weakness: Short lifetime.

I have HP Photosmart 1315 for 5 years now. So far it has been printing good quality images, thanks to a good inc.The only problem is that it runs out really fast if you print pictures.

HP No 78 Lg Tri-Col Ink

Strengths: Excellent color and lasts super long compared to the DN.

Weakness: Color fades on my refrigerator magnets...but it could also be the magnetic sheets I bought.

Can't beat the price. I use pricegrabber.com to check all products before I shop. It is actually cheaper shopping online. And as far as the shipping...can't beat it. Most of the time it's free. Again the cartridge performed perfect!

Excellent color

Strengths: Works great out of box, Large size give more color pages

Weakness: price

The HP NO.78 ink cart is a very good unit. Buying new and not refurbished is the way to go. The larger size of this one is pricy that is for sure, but it will give you up to 970 color pages if you don't go overboard. If you price the smaller size, you save a great amount by buying this one over the smaller unit
