The JVC KD-G220 Met My Expectations

Strengths: Sound quality.

Weakness: User interface not as intuitive as it could be.

Since I was very pleased with my previous JVC In-Dash system, I was eager to buy another one. This model is a step up from the entry-level model by offering MP3 playback capability. It is plenty loud enough and offers custom or preset sound settings. Playing MP3 files was a pleasure with excellent sound quality and full display of title/artist information from each track. The front panel/user interface is visually pleasing with its LED display - especially in the dark. However, its operation wasn't as intuitive as it ought to be. Programming radio stations was easy enough; however, in MP3 playback mode, I found navigating between folders difficult. I wasn't able to skip MP3 music folders without doing it one track at a time. There had to be an easier way but it wasn't clear. Setting the clock was also a bit of an adventure. There were no surprises with the installation - it fits in the standard slot for car audio. This unit offers all the features one would expect such as detachable face and I would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their standard factory stereo. I purchased mine from BestBuy for around $95.

i hope you can still get emails from this site, its been a while since you posted. I bought the JVC KD-G220 from Circuit City a while back and they installed it but never gave us the user manual when we picked our car up after they put it in. I need to know, if you can help me, how to set the clock to the correct time, as well as how to get the "screen" to get OFF demo mode. any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Good for the price

Strengths: Very easy to use...sound quality is gr8

Weakness: do not have options to connect your ipod etc

This is very good in-dash player for the price...its very easy to use...have multiple options like rock/pop/jazz etc..also, you can set your own preferences too !!!
Remote doesn't come on its own...you have to pay extra for it.. the graphics are good.

Hi,
Here is the link for the manual...probably you should keep a print-out.

I had tough time when I initially had to set it up...I made a second trip to CircuitCity and asked those guys to set it.

All the best !!!
Regards

Great CD Receiver for the money!

Strengths: Detachable Face, Plays CD-R's, CD-R-Ws, WMA's, MP3's.

Weakness: Instruction Manual could be a little easier to follow with initial programming.

I bought this unit to go in an older model vehicle (1992 Honda Civic) that I plan on selling. I did not want anything too pricey and this unit from JVC was a great option for the price. I had compared it to similar units from other brands such as Sony and Pioneer but I thought this unit had more features for the same price or even less. I am happy with the with the sound quality and the ease of installation. You can't go wrong with JVC!
