Great small steamerStrengths: Low price, easy to use, good food taste Weakness: Not powerful enough, no water level indication Great utility for cooking or steaming. With clock, it is rather easy to control the cooking time, no need to stay in kitchen all the time. The food taste is much better than that used by microwave oven. But the time is a little longer, taking about 20 minutes to cook a corn. Besides, it would be better to have a water level window. Anyway, it is great for steaming. 84% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Rice Cooker and Steamer
Strengths: Cooks rice well, and steams vegtables, and has the extra ability to add flavor by using herbs or spices while steaming. Timer turns off power when cooking time is reached.
Weakness: None found yet.
I was looking for a good rice cooker under $40 and I found this Black & Decker HS900 Divided Flavor Scenter Steamer that does more than cook rice for the retail price of $30 (and I was able to pay even less). It cooks rice very well and also has the ability to steam vegtables. It comes with a divider that allows two different vegtables to be steamed at the same time. The ability to add flavor to the vegtables while they steam is a nice idea. I feel like I have two appliances in one: a rice cooker and a steamer.
