Sony TJ25 CLIE PDA

Strengths: small and light, sleek design

Weakness: lacks wireless and MP3 player

I got this to use as medical reference and I installed several medical software on it. I had to get an extra memory stick since the built in memory is not enough, only 16 MB. I have used it for over a year now and love it. If you need more than a basic PDA then get something else since this doesn't have wireless, camera, MP3 player. as a basic PDA it is an excellent one since it is pretty inexpensive

Sony TJ25 CLIE PDA

Strengths: Price, screen, processor

Weakness: none

Excellent PDA! I am extremely pleased with this product.
1) Processor is really fast. (I use MS Word, Excell, and PowerPoint)
2) Battery lasts long (owing to the absence of digital camera, MP3)
3) Monitor screen is great. (It is bright enough, making it even brighter does not make sense since it will drain the battery real fast)
4) Software is poor, but it is nice, since I like to install the stuff I need myself. In most of cases you can find it for free on-line.

Overall, I was looking for the PDA, that has nice screen and fast processor. Everything else is actually cheaper to buy separately. (e.g. You can get a memory stick 128MB to save your digital pics for 35$ and they are getting cheaper all the time).
MP3 is cheaper to buy separately, with a bigger memory and longer lasting battery.
The same about digital camera.
This PDA is light compact 11 megs of memory is enough for virtually any kind of documents. I have lots of phones, dissertation, all my finance etc, still lots of free memory.

Sony TJ25 CLIE PDA

Strengths: New Palm OS 5 with 8MB ROM, Memory Stick PRO compatible, and thin body.

Weakness: Only 11 MB available memory, collapsing stylus, no jog dial or back button on side of body.

This basic Sony CLIE with the new Palm OS 5 (v5.2.1) has more ROM (8MB vs. 4MB) but less available memory than its predecessor the SJ22 (with 15MB available). It has the advantage of being thinner at less than 1/2 inch but suffers versatility as a result; the jog dial is now located in the bottom-center of the face of the unit as opposed to the side, it lacks the back button capability, and it has a stylus which collapses annoyingly when you are using it. Bottom line: Get the lower priced SJ22 unless you need the thinner body or are the kind of gadget geek that desires the latest OS.

Sony TJ25 CLIE PDA

Strengths: Nice color screen, size & price

Weakness: Will not work with Mac unless you buy Virtual PC ($250)

If I was strictly working from a PC standpoint I would love this PDA. The only problem is that my home computer is PC and my work is MAC and I wanted something that would be able to sync acrross platforms. Even though it is a Palm OS PDA it still will not work. It was given to me as a gift and I am really upset that I have to return it.

Sony TJ25 CLIE PDA

Strengths: Small, light

Weakness: No any wireless connection expect IR port, no mp3 player, no document to go software, supplied software is "useless" Cover slip keeps fall off.

I received this PDA as a birthday gift. As I said I own this PDA for more then 5 month, but I only used it for 2 week.
At the very first, I stored all my passwords and all the personal informations in the handheld. Untill one day in my office, I turned on the PDA and is all empty inside. All my stuff is gone, is just like a all new PDA that only got a OS.
The cover slip came with the PDA suppose to protect the screen, but it just keeps fall off. and 2 weeks later the screen broke inside my pocket. I contact SONY later, and they told me the cost about $200 to mail it, and fix it, and mail it back.

Well.. My new PDA -Dell Axim X30 High should come today. I don't like Palm's software.

Sony TJ25 CLIE PDA

Strengths: It is one of the best out of sony products that you can get.

Weakness: None

I had to retire a palm zire 21 after 2 months because it would reset itself almost every other day. I sent it to the palm guys and it came back in worse condition that before. After reading the reviews on Amazon...I decided to call it quits while I was ahead and search for another PDA. (I had a palm Vx prior to that for 2 years).
