Good value slow cooker

Strengths: Cheap, good value

Weakness: Cheap dial, lid knob spins

The Hamilton Beach 33141 4 qt slow cooker is a decent product. It does what it's supposed to do - cook food low and slow. It's one of the cheapest slow cookers out there ($15 on amazon) and is more than adequate for its purpose.

The dial on mine feels cheap, but I don't plan on changing the settings too often. Also, there are 4 settings: Off, Keep Warm, Low and High.

The knob on the glass lid spins, but rather than take the time to tighten it, I'll just let it slightly annoy me for now.

So far, I have made excellent pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, and chicken with this slow cooker. I'd highly recommend it for beginning cooks or anyone on a budget.

Good slow cooker, but not the knob

Strengths: low price fit the bill

Weakness: the knob is low quality

I bought this cooker seven days ago, and really liked it. It is very convenient and worth the price, and I have no complaints about how it works. I've made many fine meals in it.
Sadly, the knob broke after about 5 uses. I glued it back together, but today it broke apart again. I don't think it will take a second gluing any better than the first, so now if I want to use it I have to use pliers or something, and I have to count clicks--which are not as distinct as I'd like--to know quite which setting it's on.

Hamilton Beach 4 Quart Oval Slow Cooker 33141

Strengths: Very attractive matte silver and black look. Oval shape makes it easier to put in oddly shaped meat. Temperature consistent, no burning of food.

Weakness: Very lightweight plastic base which feels cheap. Cheap-feeling and flimsy plastic top handle and temperature knob - will have to see how this holds up to use.

Overall I'm very satisfied with this slow cooker. My first use was pulled pork. Easy to drop the meat in and cooked at a consistent temperature for the 8 hours of cooking. No burning. Easy clean-up. Looked nice on my countertop (matches my stainless steel appliances). Best cooker I've seen at this price range.
