GigaBank Premier 80 External 80GB Hard DriveStrengths: Compact- Good value for money- No external power supply needed- Significant more capacity compared to a flashdrive. Weakness: None In my business I have to transfer lots of work files between computers and have tried to do this using flash drives, resulting in my computer bag having many flash drives. I was looking to purchase the larger capacity flash drives when I noticed this external drive in a computer store. The cost was the same as a drive with only 4 GB, purchasing it was a "no brainer". It's small size means that it fits easily into my computer bag, easily plugs into the USB port which also provides the power. The 80GB capacity is superb. A Very compact and good storage deviceStrengths: Compact in size, with a usb port, and no external power supply reqd. Nice cover too, and small enough to carry it around Weakness: Small usb cable, although they have an extension cord, it somehow didnt work for me. It is very useful while travelling since its so compact. I use it to store songs and movies, and even play movies from it directly. Performance is splendid, and in the last one month of usage, i have had no problems with it whatsoever. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

I/OMagic’s GigaBank HorrorStrengths: Compact enough and well protected. Built in (short) USB connection. Weakness: Support Product worked "ok" for 6 mths. Slow trans rate but ok for a backup drive. Problems started with daily use around '06 holiday (traveling, so I began transferring a lot of data - about 22Gigs) Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

File backup somewhat awkward & inefficientStrengths: Classy styling, portability, simplicity, USB powered Weakness: Backup software doesn't ignore unmodified files, taking unnecessaarily long time Portable hard drive is great for business travel and takes up little space. The short USB cable tucks beneath the leather snap flap. No separate power adapter is needed, since the drive is powered by the USB port. Single touch button makes it easy to open file backup software, which allows for selecting laptop hard drive folders for back up. Unfortunately, the software seemingly does not easily allow for a quick backup of new data, rather again backing up all files within selected folder. This can take an excessively long time. Good Portable HDDStrengths: Small and easy to use Weakness: None This is a small harddrive with enough space to backup lots of data. It has a USB cable builtin and needs no other stuff to use. They also provide an extension cable incase you need one. The speed of the hard disk is pretty good and is a great harddrive for travel. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

A good portable storage drive for business manStrengths: Protect with leather and the size is OK. Weakness: None Its weight is a little bit heavy compared to other brands, possbly due to the leather protection. The sharp is very classic and suitable for business trip. Data transfer rate is fine. It works, kinda!
Strengths: Small, slim, & stylish.
Weakness: Support! I just spent two long afternoons using their live chat techincal support feature. I had to talk to them that way, because I could never reach anyone by phone.
This device worked for me for seven months. Weekly I did a system backup which was very easy to do. Two days ago I tried to do my weekly backup and got an error message. I won't go into the "Alice in Wonderland" conversations I had with the tech people in the technical chat room, but at the end of two long days, I have never gotten a real solution. I still cannot do a system backup, but the file backup does seem to work, albeit laboriously. My confidence in the integrity of those files is now low. I'm now looking for another product to replace this one.
