The DVD palyer is very functional and play 5 discs. I am very happy with them and they looks good together. Have not find a wireless receiver for the rear speaker Good system for a starter. Nothing fancy but good enough for a small living room. Just need to find a stand and wireless receiver. DAV-DX255 Home Theater SystemStrengths: Easy installation. Compact. Feature Rich. Great Subwoofer Weakness: Doesn't come with a speaker stand. The remote could be better. I purchased this sytem recently, and set it up in around 10 minutes. The quality of sound is great, although the power is not as much as I had hoped for. Awesome Sony ProductStrengths: - 1000 Watts - Intuitive Design - Sound is great - 5.1/Dolby Weakness: - No speaker stand - Eject button in remote - Doesn't seems to play DVD+RW, need to do more research - Plays Divx movies on non US models only I love sony Audio products. Nice system, can't beat the priceStrengths: Compact, easy to setup Weakness: Nothing major Bought this system with a hefty rebate, so definitely was value for money. Setup took about 30 mins. Note that to get use the speakers to their fullest, you need a largish rectangular room with TV / seating on opposite ends. Sound quality is fabulous. Set up is quick and straightforward. There is ample power and decent sound and picture quality. The five-disc changer is a nice touch. As with any all-in-one system, there are some minor tradeoffs: no HDMI input, modest power, no eject button on the remote, but no major flaws for the price. The sounds are clear and sub produce a decent low sound but however, it's somewhat weak and so don't expect a powerhouse from this. SONY DVD Home Theater System DAV-DX255Strengths: Easy installation, easy to use, good sound, Sony quality, plays lots of different media types/formats, looks great Weakness: Size, cost, power This is a mid-level 5.1-channel surround sound home theater system. Its not going to blow you away, but it has good sound quality. It includes a 5 disc CD/DVD player and can play CD, MP3, DVD, DVD+-R and -RW formats. At around $300, it was a little more expensive than I would want to pay, and I found it a little smaller than I expected. That said, upon opening it up I found it easy to set-up and intuitive to use. The quality seems good as you would expect from Sony, and it looks great. Also comes with a 1 year warranty on parts and labor. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Sony Home Theater system DVA-DX255Strengths: Price, definetly!! Great buy, with rebates for a Sony! Weakness: No eject button on remote, not as powerful as I thought I bougth this last week with some awesome rebates, so it was worth the trouble. Its a Sony, so can't really go wrong with it. The pricture quality is great, sound is awesome for a good sized room. But if you want club style music, then this is not the system to buy. Good home theater system for relatively cheap priceStrengths: Very easy to use; great sound quality; Weakness: may have compability problems with some CD-R This system has very rich features. The sound quality is perfect in my opinion. The DVD reader works decent. Some of the DVD-R media seems that can not be readed but for the standard DVD media, it works without any problem. Not too much on Home theater system, but this seems...Strengths: 1000Watt peak, 5 disc changer, easy to use remote Weakness: Price, quality can be better This is okay Home Theater system vs other ones, but for the price I might end up getting it for, well I can live with it. This is made by sony, and we all know there products seem to be lacking quality these days (hopefully they will be redeemed by there PS3). Sony DAV-DX255 Home TheaterStrengths: Clear sound, 5-disc DVD changer, Compact satellites. Weakness: Limited input connections for extra A/V devices(only 1 infact!), Weak subwoofer, No bass voloume control Great speaker set for the price that I got. The sound quality on this system is excellent and clear. The subwoofer is a little weak, but it's good for movies. The 5-disc DVD changer is nice. Very good !Strengths: Very convenient to use. Average sized speakers so it doesnt take much space. Audio quality excellent. Weakness: Wish the remote had eject button. I love this system. Very easy to install and the quality of sound rocks..I checked out some DVD movies and they are perfect. Highly recommended !! The subwoofer rocks and is much better than the Kenwood I have. Pretty decent starter system for the price. Would love to be able to play foreign DVDs/VCDs with this. Have to change to a different DVD player to do this. Good entry level theater systemStrengths: Good design and sound is good at this price level. Weakness: No video in which I wish it have. No stand and the remote is not very easy to use. very easy to set up and good design. Is not a 1000w system, I am returning itStrengths: ease of setup Weakness: 1000w is not actual 1000w but it is 1000watt 1khz which is effectively half the power (marketing), Remote doesn't have eject, only one audio in (You can connect TV or VCR not both), No HDMI I bought from reading specs that it is 1000w system. Strengths: Great sound quality. Excellent features.
Weakness: Poor remote. Doesnt get very loud.
Overall this is a great home theater system for the price. It has good sound quality, although it doesnt get as loud as I would like. The low end sound is adequate, and the reproduction is excellent. I would recommend this to anyone.
