Strengths: It does what it's supposed to do!!!
Weaknesses: Cheapy, molded connectors
Summary: If you search for M Audio Uno on this site, you get four products, but they are ALL THE SAME device... just with a slight name variation. A visit to the manufacturer's website proves that there is only ONE!
I originally bought a Yamaha product to do this and had trouble with Win XP drivers, but the UNO worked the first time flawlessly. Maybe that why the Fender Guitar Amplifier company recommended this product for use with it's amps.
The place I bought this from originally sold me the Yamaha because the UNOs were SOLD OUT and they said that the M Audio company was the leader in this kind of stuff.
I went to the M AUDIO website and found a slightly newer driver than what came on the included CD. It was only 2.2MB, downloaded quickly and installed easily. I did get the Win XP message "This driver has not been digitally signed to work with Win XP...." crap which I ignored. (Why do I see this pop up? The driver statges it was written for Win XP!)
But all worked just fine.
I must say that the Yamaha UX16 looked a lot better... seemed to be built a little sturdier... has somewhat better connectors... and came with a nice little software package, but I wanted the device to work and I could not get it to do so. The UNO did.
And that's why I'm very happy to have gotten it. I already upgraded the firmware for my Fender GDEC. It took me 5 minutes to do it with the UNO.... I played around for weeks with the Yamaha and never got it done.
