Strengths: Cordless (of course), stays hot, detachable water holder, good weight, useful steam functions and heat settings, Purple (go Northwestern go)
Weaknesses: don't forget that the base still needs to be plugged in, and you must replace the iron on it during ironing
Summary: Excellent product overall so far. All features work as advertised. cordless is very convenient, well-balanced iron, smooth surface, stays just as hot as regular iron (even hotter since you continually reheat it on the base...some cheap irons start to cool down after they reach the desired setting, and i've even used ones that shut off after 10 mins even if you're not done ironing).
But you'll have to put the base somewhere in reach (i.e. on the ironing board) so this will take up space and will still leave you somewhat of a slave to the cord. However, the actual ironing itself is made much easier and safer w/the cordless feature.
i havent had this product long enough to comment on it's longevity, but in my experience Panasonic is one of the best out there and based on reviews, I am not worried at all.
Great price for a great product. I highly recommend it (and I've done a lot of research for irons in this price range ($40-75)
