Strengths: Amazing graphics. Fast game play. Lots of variety in maps. Some really cool cars.
Weaknesses: Assault and onslaught can really chug on older systems.
Summary: 2004-08-20 15:04:58 As a continuation of the Unreal Tournament franchise, this entry is pure gold. While the graphics aren't a huge improvement over UT 2003, that says a lot for the older game, since UT 2004 is very much still in the top tier for appearance. It's ironic that the game is so pretty, since any hesitation to admire the scenery will usually result in a messy death. The game is also relatively smooth even on slower machines, which is something that can't be said for most cutting edge products. It should be mentioned, however, that some of the more busy modes, assault in particular, are brutal on underpowered PC's, with low frame rates and choppy action. The enormous variety of maps should keep anybody occupied for days just trying them all out. The vehicles are a welcome addition and add some new spice into the game although, once again, most of the details will go unnoticed as you're too busy trying to survive. The single player game is also quite strong. While you're not playing against actual people, the AI of the bots is usually very convincing, and on the harder difficulties they exhibit near godlike abilities that can be a real challenge. This can make for some very frustrating experiences if you are a UT newbie, so be warned.

Strengths: Impressive networking over low bandwidth
Intense gameplay
Large replay factor
Weaknesses: Similar gameplay
Bad physics
Online community rather droll
Summary: The single player mode is a little lame in the beginning. I was so bored by it that I stopped playing the single player mode, so I don't know if it gets any better.
Multiplayer mode is awesome. The large number of game varieties, due to types and mods, make the game nearly infinitely replayable.
The online community is rather staggered though. There are plenty of n00bs, and l33t, but not much in between. It gets a little frustrating when you can either own the map, or get creamed, but not have a fun challenge.

Strengths: Very good graphics. Nice physics model: really fun to watch plane be blown out of the sky and disitigrate into flaming bits upon impact, the body of the pilot severed in half, plunging from 300 feet!
Weaknesses: limited singleplayer function, basically just AI based tournament style blast-fest... but still cool
Summary: 2004-03-23 15:54:00 Very nice game, kicks unreal tournament 2003. I enjoyed the new vehicles, very fun to use, great for running over noobs and blowing them to bloody chunks. The graphics engine is awesome, Ran almost hitchlessley on my 3 year old Dell. new game mode "assault" has awsome scenario based play. brings unreal tournament series up from a basic FPS blast-em-up. Kicks Halo's butt in multiplayer. My new favorite! :)

Strengths: Graphics are very good. So many differant types of of games and varity of weapons, vehicles.
Weaknesses: not any worth mentioning
Summary: I've had this game for a while but I never get tired of playing it. At the higher leavels it is very fast paced and intense so it's easy to loose track of time.I've downloaded a lot of other demo first shooter games but I think UT 2004 is best so I had to buy it. The only other game I've bought is NFS when it first came out. After I got through it I've hardly played it. That's what I like about UT 2004 I don't get bored with it. Wonder what UT 2005 will be like?

Strengths: Simple gameplay, but with a lot of variations, the best being "Invasion" mode. Lots of user-created content. Fun multi-player action. Easy online play. Good use of vehicles.
Weaknesses: Few servers running "vanilla" content. Game is entirely combat-focussed. No story. Single-player game does little other than simulate multi-player games.
Summary: UT2004 brings vehicular mayhem to the mix, adding to the non-stop action. It is a great, good-looking game with relatively low system requirements and easy controls. Like all the UT games before it, the focus is on multi-player battles: there is no story, no character development, no cutscenes, and barely any offline, single-player game at all (what's there is meant to simulate playing multiplayer deathmatches online). But what it does, it does great. UT2004 is a LOT of fun, and plays like old-school shooter games like Duke Nukem 3D, Quake or even Doom II. All the modes are variations on deathmatch (capture the flag, the mutant, etc), with one exception: Invasion, which is an innovative co-operative mode where players work together against aliens from the Unreal universe.
The amount of user-created content is great, and the inclusion of the ability to track stats online has enabled people to create RPG and even RTS versions of the game, in additions to modifying physics, gravity and the like. It's easy to host a game and even easier to join a game in progress, though some user-crated content (almost ubiquitous a year after its release) can take a long time to download to your machine before you can join the games.
Because there is no story and character development is limited to stats you can increase through repeated play, the game doesn't have the kind of pull that will bring you back every night, but it is a great game to play occasionally with friends to blow off steam, and you can set aside after a couple of hours without feeling like you're missing something. In that respect, you'll be playing the game occasionally for years to come.

Strengths: Software is new & cheap prices. Best I have seen.
Weaknesses: Shipping was very slow. It took over 3wks to receive.
Summary: If not in a hurry for software. This is the place to buy. Software comes brand new and with manual. It is not software in a envelope. Prices are lowest I have found. Great place to start that Christmas shopping.
