Strengths: Elegant. Compact. Visually appealling Stainless Steel design. Roomy interior. Efficient. Fast heating (1100 watts of power). Works flawlessly. Several automatic settings.
Weaknesses: Only minor complaints. The audible signal at the end of cooking is low and difficult to hear. Microwave has so many features that it requires constant consultation of the manual to learn everything.
Summary: I have used this product for about 4 weeks and in that time frame it has surpassed my expectations. This product replaced a six year old GE Microwave and the Sharp 305-KS has outperformed the GE in every aspect. The Sharp microwave is efficient (faster heating) and the cooked food also tastes fresher (not the rubbery taste as my previous microwave). The finish is nice and all the buttons look durable. Hopefully this product will function reliably for several years. In summary, a great value and an effective performer.

Strengths: Easy to use on a basic level with many program functions which can be easily figured out from a cheat sheet on the back of the user manual.
Weaknesses: It is a basic microwave. It is really gray painted (at least the case) not stainless. The door may well have a stainless inlay. For the money it is a deal. This is a nit.
Summary: Those who say the microwave cooks faster than their former models have a point in my book. I had a Sharp 1000 watt model. This one is a 1100 watt model and is a bit smaller -- 1 cubic ft vs 1.1 cubic ft for my old one. You have got to be careful with their preprogrammed settings and with what settings you formerly used for cooking.

I can't tell whether it cooks more evenly than my older model (which was about 10 years old). Perhaps it does. My old one was still working, but the display elements were worn out and it was no longer very fresh inside. Repairing a 10 year old microwave can not be justified.

My old one was a sensor model which stopped cooking on its own by sensing humidity and temperature for certain reheating functions and for popcorn. I vertually never used that function so there was no point in paying extra for that function.

I like all the preprogrammed cooking, reheat, shortcuts and defrost functions built into this model. I look forward to experimenting with them. I expect better results than I have been achieving by guessing.

Strengths: 1,100 watts of power in a medium sized box. Funcitonal buttons that are easy to wipe clean. Will cook a large potato in about 6 1/2 minutes.
Weaknesses: Not many. Vents are on side so placing objects on top won't block airflow.
Summary: My old Panasonic quit sounding proper and I knew I needed one soon to replace it. I am sure the Panny was over 15 years old and did a great job that whole time. I did'nt figured a repair was worth it and just went looking for a deal. This one here fit the bill. Funny thing is, food tastes better in my new micro now. That is good. Pizza rolls actually have pop and zing to them. Yeah, gonna use this puppy for a good long bit :) Paid $47 for it.
