Strengths: Really smooth, Really Big, Really great looking.
Weaknesses: It's glass, So its fragile.
Summary: I have been using the Icemat 2nd Edition for about two months now and I could not be happier with the product.

After years of going with no mousepad at all at work, I wanted to increase the pleasure of my overall mousing experience and thought that finding a good mouse pad that had plenty of surface area would be the ticket. I was tired of having to lift the mouse all the time because the optical mouse could not read the desk and the pads that I had were too small or the mouse could only read it as well as the table.

After a quick trip to local computer stores it was apparent that I was seeking a real specialty Item as there were no high quality alternatives for mousing. When I got on the internet I was quickly drawn to the category of gaming mousepads and I knew I was headed in the right direction.

I wanted something thin, very high quality, something that would integrate with my work space, and something my mouse would read super accurately.

I ordered two mousepads, but I knew right away when I got them that the Icemat 2nd Edition was the ticket. Once you get the padsurfers on your mouse (pieces of Teflon that stick to the feet of your mouse) you are in for a world of difference in your overall mousing experience. Your hand glides across your desk with no effort whatsoever. You can move your pointer to wherever you want with no thought given to it and absolutely no physical impediment. The mouse becomes and extention of your mind rather than a piece of hardware in your hand. It is really amazing.

The other huge benefit is the look of the Icemat. It looks really good. Unlike mousepads in the past that look like a piece of trash you left on your desk. It looks like a cool decoration and an addition to your workspace. It looks integrated as opposed to an impediment.

The Final benefit that I really like is the fact that it is very big and hard so if I need to put work on top of it or write on it or put my calculator on it, it acts like my desk not something that's in my way or should be moved out of the way for that moment.

I love it.

Strengths: Slick surface, increadible accuracy, large size so your mouse doesn't slip off
Weaknesses: When using without proper pads on the bottom of the mouse, there can be a slight scratching sound (like nails on a chalkboard, but not nearly as bad). After a few days of use, you get used to it.
Summary: Unbelievable how much of a difference it makes. Biggest strengths are listed above, and I can't say that any one of them is the biggest advantage. They all are equally fantastic, and will really help your game.

The material is glass, which makes for a nice solid surface. Works increadibly well with laser and optical mice.

A must have for hardcore gamers

Strengths: Work is easier. Gaming is incredible. No wrist pain. Sleek.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: I was in search for a better mouse pad since my old cheap Belkin was getting rough. Now before I begin this review, I have to say that I have literally spent $5000 thousand dollars on PC parts and accessories the last few years, perhaps more. I bought a Logitech MX100 Laser Mouse, fancy lights, backlit keyboard etc. But the one thing I have been skimp on is a mouse surface. Never really gave it any thought to be honest.

So. I was a little concerned on what surfaces would work with my current Laser. I could not find a good review on any that performed well so took a shot at the ICEmat. Let me say this, not all mouse pads are created equal! After buying this pad at CompUSA for $40, had I known the difference prior, I would have spent more! This thing is amazing. I work on an ergonomic desk and I have some tilt to my keyboard drawer. This mouse will glide to the bottom of the ICEmat if left alone. That is how smooth it really is. I had to turn down the sensitivity on my mouse in the software it was that slick.

Work is easier. Gaming has improved. No wrist strain.

The mouse pad is frosted glass and comes in many colors. Very sleek.

Its washable. This is important. Any spec of crumb will easily be felt. Either that or my tactile sense is overly sensitive.

The mat is large enough for your computing needs.

It also comes with Teflon sticky feet to replace your old ones on your mouse. You NEED these.
