Strengths: Cool design and a vibrant color display.
Weaknesses: Wish battery was not proprietary & that battery life was longer; Does not download all types of song formats; no fm tuner, no voice recording capability.
Summary: The color iPod is a little heavier than the 4th Generation non-color iPod. The battery life is better than the non-color iPod. I do not understand why the iPod with its expensive price tag, does not include an FM TUNER (Radio) and voice recorder like several of the other less expensive MP3 players? I like the design, the click wheel, and vibrant color display. The iPod needs a silicone skin because of the shiny silver back and that shows every fingerprint and smudge. I prefer the iAudio 20gb MP3 Player over the iPod.

Strengths: Shuffle-play, Capacity
Weaknesses: no FM/AM Radio
Summary: This was my first foray into the world of iPod.
I had been weary of mp3's for sometime, but during a trip to my best Friends' place, He explained the ins & outs of the iPod Mini.
I then started to research & take interest in iPods as I have a pretty good sized collection of CD's.
I ended up going for the iPod 20GB Color model. This thing is awesome. It is nice to theoretically have access to my whole arsenal of music. I am a big fan of shuffling my music.
My only request is that in the future, Apple should incorporate an FM/AM Tuner. Otherwise, this thing rocks!!!

Strengths: The 2" LCD display lets you see photos in 65,536 vivid colors. Built-in backlighting makes it easy to see your screen indoors and out, and with 220 x 176-pixel resolution, clarity has never been better.
Weaknesses: it is still a bit costly..
Summary: iTunes 4.7.1 lets you import single images directly into the color iPod from your Mac or PC, or entire albums created with Mac's iPhoto or Adobe Album 2.0/Adobe Elements 3.0 on a PC. Automatically syncs iPod-viewable photos in JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, PSD (Mac only) and PNG formats

Strengths: Very easy to use and set up to the computer.
Weaknesses: The back scratches easily, but is easily fixed with a cover.
Summary: Worth every penny! The picture screen is very detailed and sharp. I use my ipod 24:7, in the car, at home, at school... I would invest in buying a cover for it as well, since it'll go a long way. Batteries last a lot longer than the old ipod, which is a major plus. It's very easy to navigate and use. I highly recommend buying the 20 GB because it goes a long way. It also features games such as solitaire in computer-like quality. Amazing!

Strengths: convenient and handy
Weaknesses: had all kinds of trouble initially loading the music onto it and difficult to find the apple contact phone number - you do get one free troubleshooting phone call so don't hang up until you're up and running or it's $60 for the next one.
Summary: FYI - when I tried to transfer my music from my laptop to the IPOD my system was assigning the IPOD with to the B: drive and that evidently prevented my system from transferring music - by changing to a high level drive (T: for instance) i had no further issues.

Strengths: Color screen, click wheel, headphones, battery, looks.
Weaknesses: The iPod scratches pretty easily, I suggest getting a cover (jam jacket is a nice case) Also, use the protective film that is on the wheel as long as you can. (obviously it protects the wheel)
Summary: I love my iPod, I used to use a mini disc player that held 5 hours of music on each disc and I thought that was a lot. When I bought my iPod I was aware of the huge hard drive space, but I thought I would get it half full before I ran out of music selection. I was wrong I’m still struggling to get above 3GB! The click wheel has to be the best feature on the iPod; I love the control I have over the scrolling and the capability to scroll very fast as well. The headphones that come with the iPod are very stylish and are extremely high quality, they sound great! Some people complain about the battery life on the iPod's, think about it this way.. if you had to put your own batteries in your iPod you would end up spending over what the iPod costed you originally! I think its great they give you a rechargeable lithium battery with the iPod and if you plan on listening to your iPod more then the 15 hour battery life advertised then bring the charger with you! Finally, the looks of the iPod are really cool, iPod's are very eye catching and that is pretty much how I was lured into buying one.
Great product well worth every penny!

Strengths: Color screen is definitely make the screen more appealing, plus it stores photos too
Weaknesses: Every time I switch on the ipod, it starts from the 1st song, it seems that the ipod doesn't remember the last song that it has played and continue from there
Summary: Overall, it's a great device. I can use it as mp3 player and also as a portable disk with tons of memory. Will surely recommend it to friends. It's the trend, and everyone carries it as "THE THING". The downside is, it is too pricey :p

Strengths: This Ipod works great with the camera equipment I just purchased. It is great for use on trips when you do not have a chance to carry a computer to download your pictures, especially a trip to Europe
Weaknesses: None that I have been able to find
Summary: I have had the opportunity to use the IPOD in the field with my SLR digital equipment. It works great with the camera and software that I use. I am looking forward to using it on our trip to Europe in two weeks.

Strengths: Color screen, lots of capacity, stylish.
Weaknesses: A bit bigger than the 4th gen. 20 gb iPods
Summary: Overall, apple does a good job improving on the 4th generation iPod. Although the color screen is pretty much a useless feature unless you plan on storing your entire library of photos in it, it is still a nice upgrade over the monochrome screen. This is a great iPod and probably one of the best buys out there.

Strengths: Ease of use, downloading, great screen, terrific battery life
Weaknesses: Short lifespan
Summary: I love(d) my iPod. It holds weeks worth of music which can all be easily organized on iTunes. The sound is terrific and you can take it anywhere. The available accessories are evergrowing making it even easier to take in the car or on a run. The photos were a bit harder to set up but once you find the right menu, it's easy.
BUT, the warranty lasts a year and many shut down shortly after. Mine lasted 13 months before showing me a sad mac, aka a major hardware problem. It seemed to fix itself but a week later it quit again. The Apple store told me that the spinning hard drive just does that and that I could "just buy a new one". Nano's don't have this problem because they use flash memory instead.
I would buy another, but I would invest in a 2 year warranty. And if you plan on running with it or being active, consider the nano or the Creative players.
