Strengths: ability to import and manipulate pdf's directly into app. Program give good flexability for layouts. Weaknesses: Everything. I don't recommend this app at all. Summary: Adobe usually produces great products. This one is a looser. - not compatible with mpeg 4. - way too complicated. - way too much $$. Look into Nero's latest Ultra suite. It comes with great video recode sw and is a fraction of the price. Nero is not nearly as flexible, but gets the job done much better. 60% of People (3/5) found this review helpful. zinnbad Member Since: Feb 2006 View Member's: Reviews Product Experience: 1 Day	Encore has great potential Strengths: Great control over most aspects of DVD authoring Weaknesses: has a feel of software infancy Summary: For the first release of Adobe's DVD authoring software - Encore does a great job, but it still has a lot of room to be enhanced. The menu layout design allows for almost any combination of images, video and graphics, but the controls are a bit lacking... I'm used to typesetting software such as CorelDRAW and if you are used to that level of control for manipulating a screen layout, Encore will feel a bit amateur. But overall, Encore is not hard to use and it is a pretty stable program. If you are just trying to take home video and put it on a DVD - this is not the software for you! If you are into video editing - it is well worth the investment to be able to produce DVD's with a high quality menu system, which is what you get with Encore.
