Strengths: The hardware was easy to assemble appears to be well made and durable. Weaknesses: The website for the product drivers/instructions needs to be updated because my specific model was not listed. However, I was able to download and use the information from other models. Summary: The 3.5 inch USB 2.0 hard drive enlcosure made by Part II was my first experience with such a device. Using it to put together my own external hard drive was much less expensive than buying one. The fan runs very quietly, and both the USB and power cords are sufficiently lengthy--six feet each. Strengths: NA Weaknesses: Large size Summary: 2004-05-21 11:40:32 Having used several USB drive enclosures, this has the common features: Xp and 2000 recognize and use it immediately. The case is approximately the size of a 5.25 external drive. There is much empty space in the enclosure. However, it would fit a full height drive. (I wonder if these are still in circulation???) If the extra space is for ventilation, the fan that comes with it is OK and circulates more air than other enclosures. This would be a plus for warm rooms etc. Unfortunately the one I received only worked for one hour. I am returning it for a replacement. 100% of People (2/2) found this review helpful.
