Strengths: Screen, Speed, integrated WiFi, Integrated extra storage for backup or storing extra program
Weaknesses: Size, no integrated Bluetooth for cellphone integration
Summary: I'm a computer engineer, so I might be a bit tech 'savvy' than the average user.
I read the earlier review, and it's pretty clear that he don't really know the product well. To solve the data loss problem of e740, Toshiba add integrated permanent 32mb storage in e75x. You can use this extra space to store programs, data files or whatever, including your backup file. I use a backup program and schedule it to run every 6pm, writing backup file as executable to that permanent storage which keeps data even if the battery ran out for months. All I have to do when I want to restore is run that executable file - that's it.
If you don't take the time to learn the features of something that you'd spent $600 for and keep your 'important' information in there, I don't really think you can blame somebody else. Backup programs had beem around for ages, and even if e755 don't have the permanent storage, you can get memory cards if you're serious about it.
With all that said, I'd found e755 to be an excellent PDA, especially at the current street price around $320 (Oct 2003). The only things that might make me move to another PDA is the size. It can't really fit in jeans pocket, unlike the HP 19xx or 4xxx series. Also, I'm getting a Bluetooth cellphone which I will use for my laptop and PDA to get on the 'net from the road. If the e755 have integrated Bluetooth that'd be great. Unfortunately at this point only the Ipaq 4xxx has both integrated WiFi and Bluetooth.
