Strengths: It has a side scrolling feature that is very useful. It also has a very good wireless connection with no interference.
Weaknesses: The ergonomic design is just a tad uncomfortable. I'll probably just have to get used to it, but at this point it's not as comfortable as my old mouse.
Summary: I got this mouse because I was tired of my regular mouse always getting lint in it and then not scrolling smoothly. So I wanted an optical mouse and my brother recommended this one. I'm not a fan of wireless mice because from past experience they get interference easily and only work if pointed directly at the reciever. This mouse exceeded all of my expectations and relieved my fears. It scrolls very smoothly without any jitters or stalls. The scroll works great and now that there is the side scrolling feater I am in love. I've been hoping someone would create this feature for a long time. I would highly recommend this product if you're looking for the perfect mouse and cost is not a big factor.

Strengths: scrolling very smooth
Weaknesses: only 3 buttons
Summary: Overall the mouse works pretty well. But I am a bit disappointed that it only has 3 buttons. It's operation maneuverability seems to be better than normal optical mouse.

Strengths: symmetrical, decent range, smooth scrolling
Weaknesses: smooth scrolling (see details below), slow horizontal scrolling
Summary: The reason I bought this mouse was because of the symmetrical shape. I'm a lefty and the wife is a righty. Normally this is not a problem, but since we've moved, the location of my computer is on a separate table, off to the right side. So, the old wired mouse was only within her reach. With this wireless mouse, problem solved.

I haven't had a problem with range. Maybe it's the location of the base unit, which rests about 6-8 inches higher and in a line of sight of the table that my monitor, keyboard, and mouse sit on.

I've used many scrolling mice, and all of them have discernable click points. This one is smooth. Takes a little getting used to, but after a while, I've formed a preference for it over the conventional ones. It actually seems more accurate. With the old mouse, I felt like on every web page I scrolled through, I wanted to stop at a point "in between" clicks, but of course, the mouse would not let me, and the screen would wind up either higher or lower than what I wanted. With the smooth scrolling, that doesn't "seem" to happen anymore, and I can stop the page exactly where I want. I'm not sure if this is real or imagined, but it has made my surfing less frustrating. But now, when I'm in the office, I notice the clicks more. This can be a pro or con depending on how you look at it, since now this MS mouse has made my office mouse feel second rate.

The horizontal scrolling is relatively slow, even when it is configured to the fastest setting. I find that I don't use this feature that often if I'm on a large spreadsheet. Using the scroll bars at the bottom of the screen is much faster. But for smaller areas, it does work okay.

All in all, I purchased this mouse out of necessity, but have come to like some of the other features. It didn't weigh heavily on the purchase decision (any wireless mouse would have sufficed), but now that I've lived with it for a while, I would recommend it to others.

Strengths: Easy to setup. Comfortable and very responsive.
Weaknesses: I miss the forward and reverse buttons that were on my previous corded optical mouse.
Summary: I went to MS web page and downloaded the latest software. Mouse installed immediately. I like the product. The tilt wheel is "OK". Nothing mentioned in the instructions that the light stays on all the time in PS2 mode but goes out in USB. Had to find out on MS FAQ section. Mouse icon works well to change settings. Put scroll on slowest setting for best results.

Strengths: Great Mouse from Microsoft...
Weaknesses: Nothing
Summary: Great Mouse for the price...Comfortable to hold...Response is also good. The wireless receiver is very powerful and can be placed from several feet away too. The Battery life is good too. But sometimes I feel some interference. Other than that its a good mouse for the price.

Strengths: good customers service and fast delivery.
Weaknesses: doesn't keep customers inform about the products well enough.
Summary: I like what came in the mail and the best part about it, it's that I got it for a great price. I like the delivery process as well, quick and straight forward.

Thank you.

2 Star ReviewI'm a little disappointed, but we'll see
Strengths: good size, not too small. The tilted scroll wheel is nice for navigating sideways.
Weaknesses: The positioning of the mouse is kinda weird. "Huge" wireless receiver.
Summary: I got this to replace my Logitech MX610 which is suposed to be awesome. However I'm quite disappointed with it, because it is so hard for me to easily navigate/click on anything I want. When I move it to the target I either stop short or overshoot. I thought I hadn't become used to it, but it has been over 6 months now, it still gives me this weird feeling.

Finally decide to replace it with this Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0 (3000). I received it today and the first thing I noticed is the huge receiver, it is the size of a small notebook mouse! Other than that this mouse gives me that weird feeling as the MX610, but not that serious. I don't know if it will be like this forever, or it is something I can get used to.

The set up was easy. I'm using a PS2 interface KVM box to control 2 computers. When I unplugged my old ball ps/2 mouse off and plug this mouse on, it worked without even the software installed. It also has the proper weight/size for my hand. I don't feel as much friction moving it as with my

MX610. And if the batteries can last longer than 3 months, I'd say it is an OK mouse.

Strengths: Great feel Nice heft for the hand. Sensitivity good.
Weaknesses: Range a bit short.
Summary: I purchased the MS Wireless Mouse as a replacement for a regular optical wired mouse. I am happy with the sense of freedom it gives. The steel blue color is quite distinguished!

Strengths: Extreamly easy to install, Simple to use. Love the PS2 and USB option.
Weaknesses: Not sure the Bells and whistles work such as low battery warning while plugged into PS2 Port. Standard PS2 Mouse driver loads instead of Microsoft IntellPoint driver.
Summary: Some Gaming Software does not detect a USB Mouse. This is the mouse is best of both worlds. It plugs into the PS 2 port and it is an Optical mouse. Not many on the market to choose from that fits this category.

Strengths: Fits nicely, feels durable, smooth scroll wheel w/tilt. Long batter life.
Weaknesses: Not enough buttons! My Logitech has some thumb buttons, this could use thumb buttons. Sometimes "out of range", even though it is only 2- feet away.
Summary: I like the tilt feature...very handy. Very strudy and solid feeling mouse. Just need a a few more buttons to be perfect. And perhaps I keep the receiver in a odd place, I will have to move it about and test the receiption some more.
