Strengths: Reaches up to 14 feet, cordless, 6 inch chainsaw bar, lightweight, no cords to taggle, recharges quickly.
Weaknesses: Great but only comes with one battery, wish it could extend further but will have to use a ladder.
Summary: Great deal,B&D NPP2018 18 volt cordless Pole Saw what a timesaver, cordless and lightweight at a great price. Cuts branches up to 2 inches thick and almost lasts all-day. Now I don't have to worry about extension cords or finding a convenient power outlet, just extend pole and trim away. Comes with a handy carry-all bag for easy storage.

Strengths: Battery operated, light, long reach
Weaknesses: battery drain, limited diameter size of branch to trim
Summary: I really like this device. It uses the same battery that my other 18V B&D tools use so I can interchange the batteries. It's light enough at full extension to reach tall branches. It has decent power to cut good-size branch. Great for trimming small branches. Wish the battery lasts longer...usually about 45 minutes of trimming. Just recharge and trim again the next day. Overall, very convenient to set up and use.

Strengths: Very well constructed, but yet light enough to handle even on a ladder. Saw can easily cut through a 6 in. branch. The carrying bag is very handy and is a plus.
Weaknesses: May need a second battery at some point if a lot of sawing is to be done.
Summary: After a very heavy ice storm I had to cut a large branch very high up. With a long ladder and this saw, it saved me hundreds of dollars of professional tree pruning. Great job!

Strengths: Uses same battery packs as other B&D yard tools, easy to manage, good cutting
Weaknesses: Not long enough for some jobs, battery life
Summary: I got an amazing deal on this pole saw at Home Depot. I already own a chainsaw, so I wasn't totally convinced that I needed this, but for small-medium trim jobs I find I reach for this more than I do the actual chainsaw. For one, it uses the same 18V battery packs as my string trimmer and hedge clippers, so I only need one charging station and there's always a battery charged and ready to go.

The problem is that the batteries don't last all that long, and power able to be exerted by the saw starts to diminish gradually. So you need to make sure to saw off the bigger diameter branches first (or keep extra batteries around--the saw only comes with one though). However, the battery life is pretty much just a fact of life trying to run a saw off of a battery of manageable size. If you need more power for longer--get a gasoline-powered chainsaw.

14' reach is enough for many trim jobs but there are some trees on my property that need more--no problem as a ladder gets you there.

I found the saw's weight to be very manageable (I'm a guy). It gets a bit more unwieldy the more you extend it but that's normal for any pole saw.

I found it cut very well--especially in the first 15-20 minutes of the battery charge. Very handy tool indeed.

Strengths: 14 foot reach, battery operated, can be handled easily
Weaknesses: battery takes a while to recharge, fairly expensive
Summary: You may not need a pole saw often but when you do this is the one you want. Its nice to have a tool that you do not need to worry about gas and power cords to operate. Just charge the battery and go. The tool performs well, just remember to keep the chain tight and oiled. If you are a big time gardener you may want to invest in a spare battery.
