mediocre phone
Strengths: cheap, cordless
Weaknesses: mediocre voice quality, appear to be prone to interference
Summary: I bought it because it was almost free after rebate. Because of that it is hard to complain about quality or the lack of thereof. It is at best a mediocre phone with voice quality leaving much to desire. It also appears to be prone to all kinds of interference. My wireless router also appears to be affected by the phone when it's in vicinity. This is as basic phone as you get these days and it's not even that good at that.

not a bad phone afterall
Strengths: FAR ; pretty decent phone
Weaknesses: no range;
Summary: you have to stay close to the base station otherwise there is a lot of crackling nice; If you move away from the base station you cannot hear a thing . would not recommend it if you paying more than $10 for it. i have owned a similar model from uniden before with the same problem.

Uniden EXI4246C Cordless Phone
Strengths: Inexpensive, battery life, nice display with caller ID
Weaknesses: some interference
Summary: It's not the top of the line for Uniden, but gets the job done for under $20. Because it's a 2.4GHz phone your microwave, computer monitor, and/or wireless router will cause interference/static. If it does, just back away. If the phone is charged correctly, the battery will last a long time. When the battery is completely unrechargeable, I'll just recycle the phone and get another. Batteries now a days cost as much as a phone!

Summary: This cordless phone is very cheap and does very thing right. It has good sould quality. It has all the basic functions. Because it's cheap design it doesn't have many other functions that other expensive cordless phones have and not expandable.

Strengths: Free after rebate! good battery life and clear voice.
Weaknesses: limited functions (no voice recorder)
Summary: 2008-04-21 12:49:06 I got this phone from Circuit city, when it's on sale for free after rebate. So far I am pretty satisfied with its quality. I did not notice any major interference between the phone and my Netgear wireless router, so it works fine for me. I also like the phone's feeling, when I am holding it in my hand.

Uniden EXI4246C 2.4 GHz Cordless Phone
Strengths: Economical, Simple, Sleek, Good BatteryLife
Weaknesses: Static Sporadically
Summary: I bought this phone from circuit city inspired by its price as an additional throw-away phone at my home. Quite impressed by its sleek look & battery life. Quality is not that great when compared with the DECT phones but being a 2.4 GHz analog phone, it works at its best. Chose this phone as Uniden is quite reputed in phone world. Bottomline, if you are looking for some cheap cordless as an additional one, go for it!!

Strengths: Easy setup, plenty of features, good range, compact design.
Weaknesses: 2.4 GHz analog frequencies may cause problems for some users in crowded urban areas or near wireless routers.
Summary: This is an excellent, low-cost phone for home or office use. Just be sure you read and follow the instructions per the user manual and charge the handset for 15-20 hours with the phone line unplugged before first use. The handset has 5 volume settings (off, low, medium, high, & maximum) and multiple ring tones, so there's plenty you can do to adjust the phone settings to your preferences. The phone isn't plated in 24k gold, but hey, I didn't expect that for the price given. Overall, a good buy.

EXI4246C Cordless Phone (2.4GHz, Caller ID)
Strengths: Light Weight, affordable.
Weaknesses: I get light static at times.
Summary: Overall, I would rate this phone slightly above average. I really like the weight and "feel" of this phone. My only complaint is some very light static at times. The other thing that bothers me is that this phone runs at the same GHZ as my router and/or modem. This means I can't wirelessly surf the net while I am on the phone unless I make some kind of adjustment to the router and/or modem (which I am not sure how to do!). You might want to make sure you don't have the same conflict before buying this phone. However, this is still a good phone with good battery life at a reasonable price.

phone for garage
Strengths: Free after rebate,
Weaknesses: quality
Summary: I would use it in garage or as a backup. I would not complaint since it's free AR form CircuityCity. The quality is average or below, but is good enough for daily usage. The sound is not very good, and may have interference with other wireless product. Overall I am satisfied.

Uniden EXI4246C Cordless Phone
Strengths: Cheap, Works great
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I bought this phone from circuity city for free. It looks big but is very light. The voice quality is ok. It has a 3-line LCD and can store 30 caller IDs. I only used it for everyday use and I am happy with it so far.

Strengths: Works great, good battery life, very affordable
Weaknesses: Average sound quality, Limited features, A BIG size
Summary: I have been using this phone for a month and this replaces my old AT&T 900mhz unit. So far, I haven't had major problems using this new unit. Though the sound quality is not that great, it is better than some other phones out there in the market. The phone is not a sleak, so be prepared to carry this big unit if you plan to talk for hours. The features are limited, but so far looks like a robust unit. For the price you pay for this phone, you definitely get the benefits.

Not bad
Strengths: Cheap
Weaknesses: Sometimes lose connection
Summary: I bought this cordless phone almost free after rebate, so for the price it is acceptable. The quality is not too bad but sometimes it will lose the connection. And since it works at 2.4G Hz, it is easily interrupted by other wireless device such as 802.11g wireless router. I would choose a 5.8G Hz product if possible, but for the price I can't ask for too much.
