You get what you pay for
Strengths: Price, picture quality, refresh rate
Weaknesses: Cheap look, customer service
Summary: I've had the TV for six months now. It was working fine until a week back, when it started getting dimmer. Had tremendous fight with CSR before they took it back. Waiting game now begins. They work great as monitors if you can support 1280x768 natively and they make great tvs too. Great buy, expect crappy unresponsive support, except for the technical people.

Strengths: Sturdy built, high contrast(750cm) and brightness(700 cm/d2), fast response time and no pixelization(very fine grain).
Weaknesses: Very ugly boxy, sixtyish design both for the console box and the remote control. Battery compartment in remote difficult to locate(in hidden a drawer). Shy to show in any room accessible to visitors.
Summary: I strongly recommend this LCD HDTV for those who wants a decent size and above average LCD HDTV without having to empty the bank. Wish the contrast ratio is better then 1:750 though. Brightness at 700 cd/m2 is adequate. Bought it at Ebuy.com for $850-free shipping too. An excellent deal.

Don't Buy Syntax TV's as Christmas Gifts!
Strengths: Nice looking TV's
Weaknesses: Warranty is only good to the orgininal purchaser, as clearly stated
Summary: 2006-09-08 23:23:24 I purchased a Sytnax LCD TV for my daughter, gave it to her in the factory sealed box, and now Syntax refuses to honor the warranty. And yes, I did everything short of going to any attorney. READ THE WARRANTY!

Strengths: Relatively low price, picture is just as good as other more expensive TVs
Weaknesses: not a "name brand" TV
Summary: I took a chance on this TV because of the relatively low price when compared to other 30" TVs. The features were good, and I had enought inputs for all my AV equipment. I compared this TV side by side brand name TVs and I really couldn't see any significant difference that would justify spending thousands more on brand names like Sony, or Panasonic, or Samsung. I've had this TV for a while now and I am quite happy with it. The picture quality was great once I calibrated it. As for the speakers, I use my own 5.1 set-up so I really can't comment on the included TV speakers. All in all, great value for price.

Strengths: Picture quality, affordable price
Weaknesses: functionality
Summary: I am actually using this on my PC & TV at the sametime. With the split screen ability, I could be working on my desktop and watch TV at the same time! The first thing I removed was those boxy looking speakers and connected it to my entertainment center. The graphics on the TV were pretty good since I have HD hooked up to the TV. Pictures were pretty clear and sharp and I don't have any complaints. And the best of all, it's the price ($600 tax included). You can't really beat that for a 30" LCD HDTV. The only downside of the TV is the design of the remote and the TV itself. It might be as sexy as the other competitors, but for the price, I would not hesitate to purchase this LCD HDTV again!

Strengths: Great Picture
Lots of inputs
Good Brightness
Weaknesses: No HDMI
Speakers are so-so
Remote is pretty bad
Summary: Great product. Allows you to plug in your PC and watch tv at the same time with the split screen. Plenty of connections behind the unit to hookup your dvd, vcr, etc (DVI, Svideo, VGA, Component, RCA, coax). Has a sub out and detachable speakers. The built in speakers are so-so, but sounds good for tv. The remote doesn't have very good range and the on-screen interface is kind of hard to use. Overall I'm very impressed with the TV.

Strengths: Generally good picture quality, good connectivity; great price/performance
Weaknesses: Black levels are a little too bright compare to my 37" Sony LCD in the living room.
Summary: It is easy to setup. NO dead pixel. It is my favorate toy in the bedroom. Perfect for TV before falling asleep. I am totally happy with it. Will surely buy again.

Strengths: Low Price: $559 with no rebates to mail in
Input Options: DVI, Component, etc.
Good Picture Quality: Bright, vivid colors, well rendered scene details
Detachable Speakers
Weaknesses: Poor Remote: While the remote has many of the usual features, it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of design. No OK/Cancel buttons, hidden door for batteries
Dark Tone Detail: slightly washed out
Summary: This LCD HDTV is one of the best price/performance options available!
Images are bright and colors vivid. Overall, the scene detail is well rendered.
I would not hesitate to purchase the Syntax Olevia LT30HV again (may actually pick up another for the guest bedroom...)
