Strengths: No software to install.
Weaknesses: USB 2.0 has yet to work.
Summary: I installed the card in my PowerMac G4 FW800 and the USB 2.0 has yet to work. After contacting StarTech they told me to put the PCI card in a different slot. Same problem. This sucks! PC users enjoy, Mac users beware!

Strengths: Works with the standard Windows Driver, you connect the card and work.
Weaknesses: When I use the 4 ports I have some power issues, some devices requier more power that the one provided by the card.
Summary: Great Product.
The only issue that we had was when we try to connect 4 USB Hard Drives to the card and only recognized 3.

Strengths: Easy to install. The driver installation is not needed on W2000K.
Weaknesses: Unclear if it really supports the high speed 2.0 USB.
Summary: Installation takes less than 15 minutes. W2000K recognizes the card without additional driver installation. The card is functioning well (unclear if the USB 2.0 high speed really works) Would recommend for a cheap USB card.

Strengths: Plug n play adaptability
Weaknesses: Doesn't seem to be compliant to all devices, i.e. Microtech Scanners.
Summary: Very easy to install. Worked on the first try. Found that a Microtech Scanner was not compatible with the card. This may the the scanner though. It has been picky from day one, so I can't fully blame the USB card on this. Could care less about the included CD within the packaging, since it had really nothing to do with the actual hardware card.

Strengths: Plug-and-play with my Power Mac. 2 Months - 0 Problems. Awesome Price.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I was a little worried when I purchased this, as I have no experience with the brand. But, then again I've had terrible experiences with major brands like Belkin. So I gave it a shot. This card works phenomenally. I plugged it into my Power Mac G4 and it "just worked" I've got 3 USB 2 peripherals plugged in and have not had a single issue in 2 months of use so far. Great product, dirt cheap.

Strengths: Easy Installation under Windows XP Home, inexpensive, works well.
Weaknesses: Only weakness is lack of internal USB port.
Summary: Added this card to a system that only had 2 (1.1) USB ports built into the mainboard. For XP Home, all that was necessary was to power down the system, install the card in an empty PCI slot, and power the system up. XP recognized the card and installed the drivers automatically. Definitely an effortless install.
The card has worked fine with a printer, cable modem, and camera that has been plugged into it. An external USB drive also worked fine with quick transfer rates when compared to using the system's built-in 1.1 USB ports.
The only drawback is that it doesn't come with an internal USB port, which would be useful for easy routing the USB connection to the front of cases that have front USB ports.
Haven't had the card long enough to see how well it holds up over time, but so far the card works well and seems to be worth the price.

Weaknesses: None
Summary: Product exceeded my expectations. Just plug into motherboard and it is recognized by Windows immediately.
Plugged four different USB connected items into the board. They were immediately available to use. No programming even though a disk was provided. Transfer rate copmpared to my old 1.0 USB is terrific.

The ports work fine but when I installed the card ...
Strengths: Inexpensive
Weaknesses: Fitting into computer
Summary: 2004-09-15 09:55:37 The ports work fine but when I installed the card and tried to screw it into the back panel of the computer it didn't line up exactly with the screw hole. Therefore it is exerting some pressure on the mother board while screwed into the back panel of the computer.

Strengths: Easy to install - No drivers necessary for XP on my machine
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: I plugged it in, and it was up and going after XP recognized it. Solid performance. What a difference from USB 1.1!!! Well worth the purchase. It is powering a 4 port USB 2.0 Hub, driving an external HD and other components. Hasn't missed a beat.

Strengths: easy to install and operate, transfer data very fast
Weaknesses: seems some conflicts when mulple ports were connected (need to be tested again).
Summary: I used this USB 2.0 card to transfer mp3 to my Apple IPod. The speed is tremendously faster than the 1.1 one. Also, it seemed clearer when I opened the web camera. Will check the tranfer of digital photo later. In summary, it's fantastic!
