Strengths: Comfort, easy click, Apple branding/design
Weaknesses: Short cord, no scroll wheel or right click button (for ex-Windows users)
Summary: Picked up this mouse to use with my new Mac Mini and it has been a great addition. The cord is rather short, however if you use it in conjunction with the usb ports on the Apple keyboard this actually turns out to work quite nicely. Of course, you can always add an extension cord. If you are a former Windows user you may miss the scroll wheel and right click that you are accustomed to. The mouse may look small and flat but it is actually quite comfortable to hold and the clicking motion is very natural. I didn't buy the bluetooth option for my mini or I likely would have went with Apple's wireless mouse, but if you want to have Apple style and stick to your budget this mouse is the way to go.

Strengths: Simple , easy to use.
Weaknesses: Cord, our wire is starting to get frayed.
Summary: We had a cordless mouse with a lot of buttons and a scroll wheel. Our son who has autism couldn't use the computer because he didn't understand the difference between left & right click. He is also a lefty so he would turn it backwards and always hit the wrong button. Till one day he threw and broke it, so we plug in this original mouse that came with the G5. And suddenly he was getting the hang of it. Now he can play dvds, use iTunes and get on the internet with no problems. He even figured out how to play games from disney and pbs.com. So if you have little kids this is the perfect mouse.

Strengths: well-designed, easy to use
Weaknesses: none apparent
Summary: The Apple mouse is a well-thought-out product that performs flawlessly. The simple instructions (in eight languages!) can be read and easily understood in less than a minute (in English at any rate). Despite having used my previous mouse for five years, I was immediately comfortable with the feel of the Apple mouse which lay under the hand as comfortably as does the key of E flat on the piano keyboard. It moves quite smoothly over the wood surface of my desk. The generous length of mouse tail (connector cable) should be more than sufficient for anyone's needs. The operation of the mouse is straightforward. Additionally, due in part to its partial encasement in hard clear plastic (Lucite?), it would appear nearly impervious to damage other than from intentional misuse, i.e. turning it upside down and pouring liquid into the optical reader opening or smashing it with an eight pound maul. The Apple mouse is well-designed both in terms of its functionality and its simple, yet elegant (and somewhat futuristic) appearance.
