3 Star ReviewTak and the Power of Juju
Strengths: Easy platformer, fun for kids
Weaknesses: Same old stuff
Summary: As others have said, this Tak title is no different than any other platformer out there (Jak, Sly, Ratchet). Nonetheless, it is a fun platforming game that does the job of entertaining the kids and providing some laughter for them. The game isn't difficult by any means and can be beaten in just a couple of sittings. If you can find the game for cheap, go ahead and pick it up for the kids. However, if you can't find it cheap, then just give it a rent and it'll be beat in a day or 2 anyways.

Strengths: I like the jungle designed levels which lends some variety in the gameplay.
Weaknesses: It doesn't break the mold of platforming games and just recycles what we've seen/played before.
Summary: Tak and the Power of JuJu is a good game and I thought it was quite fun and sometimes got a chuckle.

Judging it solely on its own, Tak is a great platforming game. The levels are huge and detailed. There's a lot of variety like using your blowgun to shoot at animals or riding on a rhino to break down gates.

But if you were to compare it to other games that have been released, I'm not so sure where it would stand. Tak reminds me a lot of Jak and Daxter which was released almost 2 years before it.

If you're looking for a game to entertain the younger kids (I would say around 8-10 year olds) then you could pick this up.

Strengths: Grahpics and Sound are great.
Weaknesses: Laggy and sometimes hard to control.
Summary: Tak is a kid-oriented platform/adventure game that misses more than it hits. The sound/graphic quality is very impressive, minus the occasional lag in framerate and annoying enemy yelps. But the principle of the game is way too simple and dumb-downed. While the different levels are quite large, the controls are sluggish, the puzzles are uninspired, and the enemies are relentlessly annoying. One hour into the game and you're already having to do extensive item collecting, which kills any hope of keeping you entertained. The monotonous platforming is broken up by some snowboarding levels, but the underlying physics are very poor. If you want a fun romp in the jungle, do yourself a favor and buy the recent Pitfall. Tak won't deliver, not even for the kids.

Strengths: Fun and fairly easy. Script is good
Weaknesses: A little short, no subtitles
Summary: Overall Tak was a pretty funny and interesting game. It was a little quick on the playthrough although not too bad. The voice script was good and the graphics were alright. My biggest problem with the game (and a few other games that do this as well) is that there are no subtitles to what the character is saying, so if you don't catch what they said, then you're SOL. Other than that, I think the game deserves a chance... at the very least, rent it and see what you think.

2 Star ReviewNothing extremely special
Strengths: Unique weapons and powers
Weaknesses: Generic
Summary: This game is okay. I would say you might want to rent it if you are thinking of buying it. It is different, and the fact that you can interact with the animals in the game is cool. The game does have different powers and weapons which you can look forward to getting as well. This game just didn't hold my interest as long as other games. I liked it when I first got it, but stopped playing it pretty quickly. Like I said before, you might want to rent it, and if you still like it a lot after giving it back, then you might want to buy it.

Strengths: Easy and simple to pick-up and play. Awesome graphics and good variety of game-play.
Weaknesses: Story-line is very childish. Game-play is complex for younger players.
Summary: This is a nice relaxing game to play. Several clever puzzles and some good humor. I really laughed at the idea of catapulting sheep with trees! Progression through the levels is sometimes confusing as no clear path is displayed, it is important to listen to the story and follow the clues. The various sound clips of the main character are funny but a bit repetitive after a short time. A basic platform action game that makes a good budget title.
