Strengths: Great Sound (Especially with the surround setup at a higher level) Good picture quality Weaknesses: Can spend hours trying to set it up to extract the best it can offer. DVD's freeze with the smallest of scratches BIG mismatch in volume playing mp3s as against DVDs (DVD sound very low comparitive) Summary: If you buy this system, commit yourself to playing with the settings for at least 10 hours. I spend 6 months on this wondering why I wasted the money until one of my friends helped me with adjusting the set up. If you do not see the cool blue LED while playing the DVD or the scrolling Dolby3.2.1 on the menu, your connection just is not right. But once you have set it up, it is a joy to listen to. When you play DVDs, the volume is not that high. SO if you play mp3 right after playing the DVDs, make sure you have the volume button handy. 100% of People (1/1) found this review helpful. Strengths: Speakers had Nice Sound Weaknesses: Receiver problems during first use! Summary: 2003-08-07 12:07:03 System was set up, watched 1st dvd, then 3/4's the way thru the sound shut off & the recver flashes "protection" sw/Sony said to mail to them to fix after we tried other things.
