Strengths: Ease of setup/use. Very reliable. Small footprint. Extremely portable! Great for small LAN parties!!!
Weaknesses: Small footprint may be too small for some. Only single green traffic LED for each port.
Summary: It's a switch. You plug it in, connect your cables and that's it. It worked right awaqy and without any glitches whatsoever. Just what I've come to expect from Cisco/Linksys. I was dissapointed in two areas. I've become accustom to multiple link lights and etc for each port. They only have one green light for each port that blinks when there's activity. It is purely cosmetic though as the function is there 110%. The other thing is it's almost too small. If you sit 2 decks of playing cards side by side on the table you can get an idea of the dimensions. It's great for the portability. Some of us old folks need something substansial on the shelf. I get aggrivated when the switch isn't heavy enough to stay put when the cables are attached. Yet again, purely cosmetic. I also was hoping Cisco eould have added some configurable options like they have on some higher end switches like the ability to vlan. With this switch you get everything you pay for and it works flawlessly. If the minor cosmetic things I mention don't bother you this switch is A+ all the way!!!

Strengths: Simple compact switch
Weaknesses: Link/activity lights can show through for other ports giving the illusion that they are connected
Summary: There is really not much to say about this device beyond that it performs its job as specified. I will be wall mounting the device once I find some screws that fit it, they are not included and are very small.

The metal casing is nice; NetGear no longer makes their cheaper switches like this (or I would have bought one from them.)

For this price, don't expect a managed switch... It is a simple unmanaged switch that does its job. I just wired a room with cat5e jacks and this is great for that purpose.

Strengths: Compact Size, Low Price, Strength and Quality of Materials
Weaknesses: Simplistic and Sometimes Ambiguous LED Indicators
Summary: My opinions of this switch largely echo the previous two reviews. It's compact and space efficient. It's well constructed and durable, thanks to its metal housing. It's been completely hassle-free and reliable. Don't expect more than it is; it's just a simple, unmanaged switch. But it does that extremely well. Unlike a previous reviewer, I prefer its small size; I don't want my hardware taking up any more room than necessary. Also unlike that same reviewer, I had no problems with the cables lifting the switch due to its light weight. If anything, I think it is heavier than most other switches in its class because its metal housing has more heft than the cheaper plastic alternatives. I also appreciate the long warranty (limited lifetime), with which other switches in this class can't compare. I would absolutely recommend this product to someone looking for a small unmanaged switch. Its low price (I got it for $40 shipped), high quality, reliability, and simplicity make it an excellent product with excellent value.

Strengths: Inexpensive, 8 ports, nice looking design, easy to follow instructions, easy setup
Weaknesses: none so far
Summary: This is a switch and it does it's job. Easy to hook and easy to follow instructions. What I mean by easy instructions is that all you have to do is look at the box. It not that expensive ($42) and would give you a solution if you have quite a few computers to network.

Strengths: + Limited Lifetime Warranty + Auto MDI/MDI-X crossover detection + Sytem Port Status LEDs (8) + Wall-mount
Weaknesses: - No wall-mount hardware included
Summary: This is a great product at a great price. The unit is sturdy and durable with its metal casing, compact (measures 5 1/8” W x 1 5/6” H x 5” D), and includes wall-mount slots on the bottom panel (Wall-Mount Information Sheet included). Installation is simple thanks to the easy to follow User Guide. No need to worry about crossover cables thanks to the auto MDI/MDI-X capability. The front panel 8 LEDs keeps you informed of the status of each port. If you are looking for an affordable 8 port switch, look no further. I highly recommended it! Plus, you can not go wrong with its Lifetime Warranty!!!
