Strengths: SACD and ALL formats you could want. Price.
Weaknesses: The Display uses a reflection which is hard to see unless you look directly at it. Viewing at an angle is impossible. The control buttons on front are HARD to push (I move the machine each time)
Summary: This DVD player allows you to listen to MP3 player music. and features a 5 disc changer. In fact, you can listen or watch just about ANYTHING with this player. Very thin, it fits nicely into any rack system. I purchased this as a cd player because the price was half other SACD players that were CD alone. You can't beat the value. This player is very quite also. USE THE REMOTE. The controls are difficult to use on the front and are VERY hard to push in. WOW..a CD player that has a better DVD player than most stand alones and is cheaper. Purchased at Best Buy for 129.00. Been working fine for about two weeks. I looked at 5 different stand alone CD players before purchasing this one. You won't regret it. Note that SACD cost about 2 dollars more than normal Cd's but the difference is...WONDERFUL. First player that plays ALL my home made compliations with out problems or errors. Highly recommend

Strengths: Excellent Quality, Playback, Response Time, Display
Weaknesses: Size, Price, Not region free
Summary: Bought for $138.99 to match my other SONY component systems, the breadth is quite large, Has to be the lowest compnent on the pile! Good playback and response times. Plays almost every disk i throw at it. Excellent finish comapred to the cheap DVD players on the market.

1 Star Reviewworked great for 11 months
Strengths: great picture, nice low profile design
Weaknesses: inability to go direct to specific discs
Summary: Had this for 11 months , worked great as a replacement for my Kenwood carousel. But now it wont play any discs, regardless of type.

3 Star ReviewFunctionality Good for Price; Slow startup and high pitched whine
Strengths: Product works as advertised: plays DVDs and CDs. Also, there are many output jacks so I have future expansion options.
Weaknesses: The player is rather slow recognizing a new CD. I am replacing a 15 year old onkyo which popped in cartridge CDs and could start playing them in 3-4 seconds. This unit seems to take 10 seconds.
Summary: Pros: Seems like a great unit for the price.

Cons: Very, very slow recognizing a new unit. This is a huge drawback; if there is any doubt what position a given CD is in you would have to cycle through several CDs at 10+ seconds each. Takes too long.

Also the machine has a high pitched whine. More noticeable close to the machine and when relatively quiet.
