3 Star Reviewa mixed bag
Strengths: LCD looks nice, variety of inputs
Weaknesses: zoom doesn't work correctly, support is non-existent, bad remote
Summary: The LCD looks good. In the store it was next to a Sony at 1" smaller and 3x the price and I couldn't tell the difference. I've noticed no blurring or anything like that with fast action. Colors will have to be toned down from the default settings, but can be adjusted to look good.

Make sure you look over the settings, balance was set almost all the way to the right on my unit out of the box which seems like an odd default. Perhaps it was left there by the testing crew.

DVDs over YCrCb look great, DVDs played on an xbox over YPrPb have rainbox interference pattern, but I don't know if that's from the Xbox or a cable. Xbox games and especially ones that support 720p over the same YPrPb cable look amazing so I'm not sure what the problem is there. Satellite through the Super VHS recorder over SVideo also has the same pattern, but Satellite straight via svideo cable does not so that may be something external to the TV.

Zoom looks like it just doubles the picture size instead of making a 4x3 broadcast fill the screen as is described in the manual and most other HD monitors so it's not very useful.

There is a nice button on the remote to change input, but you often have to change aspect ratio at the same time so of course that is buried in a menu.

Sound is not bad for built in speakers.

Emails to support and customer service have gone unanswered.

Strengths: This is a great combo tv/pc monitor for me and I am impressed with the graphics.
Weaknesses: I had to get a diff video card for pc to accomodate the widescreen format. Not the fault of the tv though!
Summary: I have enjoyed this monitor/tv and it was worth every cent!

No better picture than my 42 inch Phillips Plasma TV.

Go out and buy this one for sure and save money! 3 thumbs up!

Strengths: low price, good picture
Weaknesses: flimsy remote, cannot be programmed into my universal remote, no ATSC tuner
Summary: I wanted to get a smaller TV for the bedroom. All similar-sized Sony's, Panasonic's, and Samsung's were a lot more expensive, so I decided to go with the Syntax brand.

The image quality on this TV is great, for both standard and high-def signals. It has a built-in in NSTC tuner but no ATSC tuner. This is not a big deal for me since I get my hi-def signals via my set-top box anyway.

My only gripe is the remote which appears rather flimsy. Additionally, none of the codes in my universal remote work for this brand so I can't program it. I guess a learning remote control would work as well, but I don't feel an urgent need to get one at this point.

A good product. Definitely not the best in its class, but with it's low price, this is something that should be considered when you are in the market for an LCD TV.

Strengths: Great for my needs- TV with digital cable.
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: 2006-01-19 13:34:29 I would say to get this set if you can- hard to find since the new ...hvx came out. This is nice with the detachable speakers. I like the silver cabinet color better than the black which everyone has. Get it while you can.

Strengths: Very nice looking design, looks a lot better than the Black ones. Detachable speakers. Screen is bright and clear.
Weaknesses: Resolution is only 1280x720.
Summary: Great LCD TV for the money. I only paid $599 + tax for a brand new unit. I wish the resolution could be higher. But it's still great with HD and PC.
