Strengths: Portability, Mario Games (only available for Nintendo not for SONY and MS), Bright LCD screen.
Weaknesses: I haven't found anything yet, but the game packs are more expensive than I thought. I now buy some at ebay.
Summary: I've heard many people complained about battery power. I usually play 1-2 hours a day and re-charge the battery after playing. I have no idea how long the battery can go if you play continuously.

Small unit has built-in re-chargeable Li-ion battery that doesn't have memory effect; that is, you can re-charge the battery whenever you want.

LCD display is pretty bright and I have no problem for playing outside (not under direct sun light though). This is the first portable game unit for me and I like it pretty much.

Strengths: smalll. portable. long battery. light!!!
Weaknesses: possible to end because Playstation Portable coming soon...
Summary: it is the "last of the moycans" from nintendo. It is a wonderful game console, very small to have in your pocket and now, FINALLY, with a built in light. It has so many games and acessories that you will be busy for a long time.

I really recommend.

Strengths: Battery life, built-in light, price
Weaknesses: Not able to use ordinary rechargable battery
Summary: My son has been playing Gameboy since its first generation. It is getting better as it evolves. The A+ is that it now has the built-in light. I was always concern when he was playing in a low light environment and he did not like the bulky attached light. Now he can plays under the sheet when he is supposed to be sleeping. The only drawback is when the battery pack reaches the end of its life, it cannot accept regular batteries like the old version. I have not found out what is the price to replace a battery pack. I will worry about that later and hope not anytime soon.

Strengths: Lighted screen, compact 'clamshell' design, built in rechargable battery which lasts 8-10+ hours
Weaknesses: Controls are small and can sometimes be uncomfy compared to original GBA, no headphone port
Summary: The Gameboy Advance SP is my favorite portable system, I have the Nintendo DS already but I still take my GBASP out with me more. Its more compact and doesn't feel as fragile as the DS, so its easier for me to just toss it in my pocket or back and not worry. There's really not much to say about the SP, its all there in its design. Its the improved version of the original GBA, but its easy to complain about the controls being so close together. Another complaint is that it doesn't have a headphone port. That really didn't make sense to not include it, having to pay $5 for a adapter sucks. But other than that, its a very worthwhile purchase for the lighted screen and rechargable battery. I've fallen asleep on my SP, and when I woke up in the morning, it was still on. Now thats battery life!

Strengths: Portable, Built-To-Last, Improved Screen.
Weaknesses: A bit small for Adult Hands, No Universal AC Adapter, No regular Headphone Jack.
Summary: Got one of this as an early present for myself for Christmas. Been using the old first generation Game Boy Advance for a long time. The newly improved back-lit screen prompted me to "upgrade" my set to one of this (although I should have changed to a regular SP it a long time ago...). Had a choice between this or a Game Boy Micro, as both have improved back-lit screens. Picked up this one instead because of the attractive price. Also, felt that the Game Boy Micro may be a bit too small to be playing comfortable ... hands get strained after a while. This is therefore the next size that would be of less discomfort, although I still prefer the first generation GBA, as it is the right size for adult hands (like the current Nintendo DS or PSP). This is a very portable little thing. Slips into my jeans pocket easily. The newly improved screen has a more vivid color, as compared to the older GBA SP that I've seen. Everthing else seems the same. Box comes with the system and a 110V AC Adapter. Just wished that its a universal adapter, as this is supposed to be a portable handheld gaming device, and one might carry it overseas sometimes. The lack of a regular headphone jack makes it a disadvantage. Other than that, This Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP is really an old standby of hand helds, and worth every penny because of its huge library of available games (which includes the old Game Boy and Game Boy Color - The Game Boy Micro is not backward compatible with the later two).
