Strengths: Sharp Reputation - Reliable and Leading Brand in Making Microwave Ovens, Good Price, Compact and Energy Efficient, Made in Thailand not China, Looks Nice, Warms up food quickly.
Weaknesses: LCD doesn't have backlight and numbers are not lighted. They are just black numbers on grey, which you can't see in the dark, unless you turn the light on. But it's ok, we don't cook in the dark. :)
Summary: Our GE microwave oven died after 10 years of use, which I think is a good life span.
Therefore we needed a new compact microwave oven and this was the best considering its price, quality, design and outlook. I've spent many hours browsing for microwaves and reading reviews.
My first factor was reliability, 2nd factor was price, 3rd factor was compact size and nice outlook. I was guided by great reviews written for R-230KK and posted on PriceGrabber and Amazon.
Then I found that Wal-Mart has absolutely identical microwave (R-209KK) with the same capacity, wattage and even the same look. I compared models R-230KK and R-209KK on SharpUSA.com, they are identical. It has 15 automatic settings and 4 defrost options, which is plenty for us.
I paid $54.88+ tax, which is not bad for a quality item.
My choice was based also on the reputation of Sharp microwave ovens. Although I was reading reviews and checking prices for other brands too, I was 99% sure that I'll buy Sharp microwave. Because Sharp is a reliable and leading brand in manufacturing microwave ovens. If you're looking for a compact and reliable microwave with a budget price, this is probably the best model to look favorably at.

Strengths: small compact
Weaknesses: none so far
Summary: Suits our needs as we only microwave smaller bowls and dishes. If we wanted something bigger we would have done so. We wanted small and compact, and this is it.

Strengths: good looking, small
Weaknesses: the clock doesn't work correct
Summary: This is a good product. I would buy it again if necessary. I like it's size and the color. It is a bit noisy but is not a problem. The commands are easy and accessible.

Strengths: Compact Size and all the basic features I was looking for.
Weaknesses: No backlit LED, but that's "OK"
Summary: We needed a dependable microwave in a compact size. We have a baker's rack in our kitchen and we wanted to find a small microwave to fit on a 15" deep shelf. This Sharp R-230KK is just perfect. It has all the features we need and it fits the space we needed it to fit. It works great! We just love it.

Good Buy
Strengths: Enery efficient
Weaknesses: Compact
Summary: This is a very good black microwave and heats food very fast. It took 31/2 min to make popcorn in my earlier microwave which was bigger, but it takes only 21/2 min in this one. The black color matches mt other appliances. It makes little more noise but looking at the performace, I am ok with it.

Strengths: Affordable, economical, slick, compact, black, stylish, fast, metal case, nice touch-panel.
Weaknesses: Noisy, LCD with no back-light, too small for standard size popcorn, black finish sensitive to touch.
Summary: This microwave oven is great. Coming from a top manufacturer with excellent reputation for quality and reliability, this little microwave is great. What I don't like is the LCD. Regular LED display would be a lot better and there would be no need for back-light which this model doesn't have anyway. Black paint is very sensitive to touch so you will end up cleaning it quite often, especially if your hands are naturally greasy. I had a bigger noisy Whirlpool prior to this microwave, so I am kind of used to the noise. It's nothing that you can't tolerate, in my opinion. Standard size bag of popcorn came out for 2.5 minutes which is impressive. It took me five minutes on the old one. It has nothing more and nothing less than I need. And at 800W it's a power saver if you use it frequently. A best-buy for non-demanding users.

Strengths: size and price
Weaknesses: door
Summary: Our first Sharp microwave was purchased 20 years ago so we know first hand of it's quality and durabilty. So when it came time to buy another microwave oven, we knew we had to go with Sharp again. This is a great compact microwave oven if you have small dishware. The only thing is the door does not seem to open fully. But overall a great buy for the price.

Strengths: Compact, price
Weaknesses: none
Summary: Just got this microwave in the mail. It's compact in size. Black colour is way nicer than the usual white, which discolours over time.
Price is very acceptable, esp. including the $10 rebate from pricegrabber. no problems

Strengths: great bag for the buck
Weaknesses: would be nicer if it was more powerful, but that's what more expensive models are for
Summary: Great bag for your back. After having a Sharp microwave that lastest 10 years of daily use, decided to get another one. No need for fancy features, so this was a great option.
