Strengths: Low price. Very light weight. Easy to setup and use. Very bright with a higher contrast ratio than most. Also a very good looking projector.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: I did not know that Microtek made projectors. I have a monitor made by Microtek (997M) that has worked very well for me for almost 2 years. Therefore, I decided to try the Microtek MS4 as a projector for our office. I was pretty impressed with the product when I removed it from the box. The product is very light weight, and the overall fit and finish is great. The product comes with a carrying case and lot of cables. I do wish that they would label the cables so that it would be easier to identify them. Otherwise, the product was easy to set up and use and the documentation was good. We use the product in a larger conference room and even with the lights on, it is easy to see the image. We don't have a screen in the conference room yet, so we project on the wall. I am assuming that the high contrast ratio also contributes to the great image quality that we are experiencing with this projector. The projector sits on the conference table and you can adjust the height of the projector by adjusting a leg in the front of the projector. After shopping around and doing a little research, the price of $749 (after a $50 MIR), is pretty low. You can find projectors for less, but they are usually refurbished. Service is important to me, especially for a piece of office equipment. I have not had to contact Microtek's customer service for any issues, but the company has an "A" rating from the Better Business Bureau so I assume that I will not experience any issues with getting service for this product. Based on my experience so far, I would highly recommend the MS4 to anyone looking for a projector for their office or home.
