Strengths: Extremely light, small and portable, good tradeoff of features for portability
Weaknesses: Short battery life, no optical drive, no bluetooth (very minor quibbles)
Summary: The Acer Aspire One has a good balance of price, features and portability for netbooks of this class, omitting the optical drive.
The Intel Atom processor's performance is similar to those Pentium Ms, only smaller and power efficient. It runs XP without much problem, but struggles a little if you put Vista on it. You can turn off all the extra visual effects and services, and it actually runs Vista quite well. I also recommend using Ubuntu (netbook remix) or some other linux distro if you prefer that.
Compared to the Dell Minis and other similar netbooks, the keyboard of the Aspire One is a little larger and is more comfortable during use. However some may find the small screen and keyboard tiring for usage past 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Get the 6 cell battery if you would like more than 2 hours of usage, but that obviously adds to the weight!
