Weaknesses: Cannot customize animations. So many ways to adjust sound can intimidate an inexperienced listner. Summary: 2006-07-30 12:27:35 What a great unit! I would first like to comment on the previous review. Kenwood has recently put out software that allows you to create your own images for the display (still cannot customize animations). There are so many ways to customize sound including inputing speaker distance and size, equalizer with selectable frequencies, listener position in the car and a lot more. I love this unit, and it looks absolutely great. I prefer looking at the text display for station name, MP3 tag info, etc. I paid 310 for it from an insurance reseller new in box...got lucky. Need to get me some polarized sunglasses though, as it gets a glare in daytime. Using a soft shirt to wipe it will leave small scratches that can be seen when light hits it at the right angle as well, though I'm sure this is common to all head units. Weaknesses: Cannot customize display Summary: Contrary to many descriptions of this unit floating around the web, you CANNOT use your own images or movies on this headunit. Only pre-made images can be used, which are available through the kenwood website. Once again, YOU CAN NOT LOAD YOUR OWN FILES ONTO THIS UNIT!! There is no program to make your own like with pioneer or panasonic. I have been in touch with the kenwood customer service reps, and they have re-affirmed this. Aside from that, the audio quality is great! You can specify what size speakers your car has in the front, back, and sub, totally customizable crossovers, equalizers, and everything else you can think of. And this unit DOES DISPLAY RADIO TEXT!
