3 Star ReviewWOW... That says it all ! but problem with rebate
Strengths: Resolution, Clarity, Quality, & Price
Weaknesses: none noted yet!...... update: rebate not recieved yet....
Summary: 2006-04-10 12:10:05 HDTV and DVD - Video and Sound are amazing on this set. The viewing from all direction in the room was exceptional. Did not notice any depreciation in clarity or visibility from any viewing angle in the room. The speakers are attached to both ends of the screen. This give the unit a pleasant wider stance. Sound is above average. TV mounts like a picture frame on the wall. Wall mount is not included. I don't think it is included with any LCD TV in the market. This TV is the same, if not better than, Sony, Panasonic, NEC, Sharp LCDs in this market segment. CompUSA has this unit on display at their store. This LCD will set the trend to bring down the LCD TV prices.. right now this LCD TV gives the BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK! update: rebate not recieved yet... tv is good.. company not reliable... poss liers...

Strengths: The picture is absolutely beautiful. I got it for 6xx.xx from Amazon.com after the $125.00 rebate. I have try it for DVD player and hook-up to the computer DVI port by using resolution of 1024 x 768
Weaknesses: After using this TV for almost a week. Found out a dead-pixel on the right hand corner. But it's not very noitceabout. Everything works smoothly.
Summary: The design is not quite as stunning as the Brand name LCD, but it does serve you everything u would ask for it. Except this is a 4:3 TV not the HDTV ready.

Strengths: Light weight, multiple inputs, versatile use and allows for multiple components to be hooked up simultaneously, excellent price after rebate.
Weaknesses: Speakers are average, requires a little work out of box to find best settings
Summary: I learned about the Syntax brand when they came out with their original HV models, and have been following the primarily positive reviews through users forums, such as AVS forum. They have since come out with the HVE, HVS and HVX models, all of which have been well received. As the HVX model is the most recent generation, the HVEs have gone on incredible markdowns and have had rebates offered as well, suggestive of being used as a loss leader by many stores.

I purchased the LT26HVE using a markdown, rebate, cash back, bonus cash and free shipping to acquire it for 50% of the MSRP. Thus, I am strongly biased to hold this unit as a great value based upon the purchase price.

I purchased this unit to serve as a television, gaming monitor and computer monitor and it has served well in all regards during the two weeks it has been in use. It allows for a VGA hook up for the computer, component hook ups for the xbox and DVI for satellite. I have not learned all the functionality of the unit, but it has served well in these regards. I have not had any problems with picture quality, though I am not a hard core videophile. It plays the xbox without any problems or ghosting that I can see and DVDs are clear and bright.

The sound is average and other users have commented that it is a non-issue with home theater units or dolby speakers.

The remote is light, but works. I plan to use my satellite remote once I get around to programming it for the LT26HVE.

The specs from the manufacturer's site will tell more than I can about the picture quality, but I can say from a layman's point of view that it is very good to excellent depending upon the input being used.

Given the current pricing structures, the building reputation and my experience, I would not hesitate to recommend this product.

Strengths: Clear picture! Great price!
Weaknesses: The remote controller is basic.
Summary: I bought it for 6xx.xx from Buydig.com after the $100.00 rebate. Overall, it is a great LCD TV with an affordable price. The picture quality is really good. Furthermore, I can use it as both tv and monitor.

Strengths: Easy setup and menu navigation. Clear picture although this is my first LCD, I'm only comparing it to my previous television sets.
Weaknesses: Remote could be a little more robust.
Summary: I picked this set up at Fry's Electronics for $669, for this price I couldn't help but venture into the LCD world. Overall, I'm very satisfied. The base is small enough to fit on the fireplace mantle without having to use a wall mount.

Strengths: defintely sleek
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: i received this about 3 weeks ago. i was able to hook up my other electronics to the tv pretty easily. the osd menu is easy to navigate. the controller is not that great but what can you expect for a reasonably priced lcd. the quality of the image is pretty decent, but i am guessing that it depends on the what cables you hook it up to. i am fairly new to this new generation of tv's so i am trying to learn as much as i can in orderr get the best quality out if this lcd as i can. so hopefully i can add some better comments in a future update. the only downside is that the speakers are not removable. but i love it and still bought it depite knowing that before hand. it's a great lcd.

Strengths: great picture
Weaknesses: not great as the brand name
Summary: i love this lcd. at half the cost you get almost everything a brand name lcd would offer. since this lcd is only hdtv ready , you would need a hdtv tuner get get the best quality but it's still great no matter. the only downside is the remote, but what can you expect. the os menu is not that hard to navigate either. if you can find this monitor around $600 to $700, you're getting a deal.

Strengths: price, easy hook up,
Weaknesses: remote is slow to respond, and cant use my comcast cable guide when viewing at 1080i.
Summary: overall great lcd for the price. i paid 500 at circuitcity. easily compares with other name brands. remote is a little stubborn have to press button more then once for it to respond. very easy too hook up ur cable/sorround sound to this tv. has picture in picture which lets u watch tv and be on ur computer on split screens. i would recommend using a dvi connection from ur cable box to tv. i noticed a big difference in the picture when hooking up dvi connections compared to component. the dvi connection gives u that crystal clear hdtv picture. overall very happy with purchase

Strengths: Sleek design, many user video and audio controls, excellent picture quality
Weaknesses: the remote control can be made more robust and easier to use
Summary: Over all, it is a great LCD TV for affordable price (I paied $578 from Frys). The picture quality is even comparable to other much more expensive brands, like sony and JVC. I did a side by side comparison at the Frys local store and it turns out that this unit definitely beats the others in the same size range.

Strengths: Price/Quality Ratio, Nice design, Makes an excellent bedroom TV
Weaknesses: Always on Blue LED Standby indicator, 12ms refresh may not be accurate
Summary: Purchased this TV for my bedroom. At the price (with or even without rebate) you can't go wrong. The picture quality from standard cable is good. Can only get great/excellent with HD signal or DVD. Blue LED is distracting until you fall alseep. Called customer support because there are no instructions or mention on removing the stand for wall mounting...got caught in an endless loop. Will be submitting the registration within the 30 day window to get 1 year free onsite service :)

1 Star ReviewLT26HV 26" TV
Strengths: inexpensive
Weaknesses: Picture is blurry. Words on screen are blurry. Big blue light on TV is really bright. The actual picture, in my opinion is extremely dull.
Summary: I would not recommend anyone buy one of these TV's. One may spend $500-$800 and think he or she is getting a real bargain. But, if you enjoy watching television, and you like seeing a clear picture, spend the extra $500 and get a TV that has a decent picture quality. Otherwise, I feel that I was better off with the 10 year old tv that sat on the dresser.

Caution! Please check about restocking fees if you order one of these tv's. If you don't like it and want to send it back, you might pay quite a bit to return it. That money would go a long way on a tv with a nice picture.

1 Star ReviewDon't Buy Syntax Products as Christmas Gifts!
Strengths: Nice looking TV's
Weaknesses: Warranty is only good to the original purchaser, as clearly stated!
Summary: I purchased a Sytnax LCD TV for my daughter, gave it to her in the factory sealed box, and now Syntax refuses to honor the warranty. And yes, I did everything short of going to any attorney. READ THE WARRANTY!

3 Star ReviewNot a Great TV, but Decent
Strengths: Picture, easy to set up. Design.
Weaknesses: Sound quality.
Summary: I think I got a pretty good deal on this LCD TV for a little less than $500. I think I see some lines moving from the bottom to the top of the screen. The speakers are okay, but I hooked the TV up to my home audio anyways.
