Strengths: Makes the discs look beautiful
Weaknesses: Ribbon has tendancy of jamming, Ribbons expensive
Summary: I have been using this for about two months and printed dozens of discs. Each ribbon is rated at 40 prints, I usually get 60-70 depending on the length of each print. Ribbon can get jammed up, I usually just roll it up a little bit and it works fine. Ribbons list at $9.95 each but you can get them for $19.99 for a 3 pack.

Strengths: Easy to use, makes your work look highly professional, stable and highly reliable printer. Fast and very cheap to operate. Can print on sides too if you rotate disc.
Weaknesses: Software is finiky. Only prints in one color. Only prints in selected areas.
Summary: I'm in DVD duplication business, and I bough this printer so that I could stay afloat by providing highly professional looking product. This printer delivers everything I want. Of course, it does not print in full color, and you can't print full color labels with this like with inkjet. But that's not a weakness. Instead you are able to print highly professional discs that catch eye.

You need to use special thermal lacquer discs with this printer. Luckily these discs are cheap. In the end you are saving money by using cheaper media, and cheaper highly efficient printer supplies. As well, you are leaving your customers satisfied.

One remark: printer will only power on when USB cable is plugged into PC, directly into PC, not through a HUB.

Printing is done fast, in one color, in special printing areas, on top, and on bottom. Sides could be printed too, but you will need to rotate disc and load new printing file.

Designing is easy, although software looks cheap. The end result of your print jobs is highly professional. Much more professional than inkjet.

I highly recommend this printer. You will be satisfied with it!

1 Star ReviewPiece of $#!*....
Strengths: None
Weaknesses: Everything
Summary: This is the worst piece of _ I have ever seen. The price is outrageous for something that wastes your time and ink ribbon. You have to fix the ribbon after each run and it skips a whole section of ribbon between each printing which farther increases the ribbon waste.
