Strengths: The features are great.
Weaknesses: I really don't like the remote. I use the remote from the kenwood vr507
Summary: I ordered the vr7080 and recieved the 7080A which is 120W

I have had nothing but great sound and performance from this receiver. I would recommend it to anyone for a low cost reciever that cost more for the features from other

manufactures.

Strengths: Superb, Super Powerful, THX Select, Best Value, Unbelievable Remote
Weaknesses: None
Summary: This is a superb unit with fantastic sound, effects, and features including many 6.1 decoders and 6.1 simulators for radio, CD, and cable, both stereo and mono. Separately controllable speakers include surround back and subwoofer, integrated audio/video, much more controllability, unbelievable value. Other 2 negative reviewers couldn't plug in a toaster or work a VCR, more likely dirty competitors. 100W per 3 separately controllable surround speakers, YES!!! Kenwood has proved electronics have progressed over the past decade as well and fast as computers, thank you Kenwood.

Strengths: Great for door stop or boat anchor.
Weaknesses: No way to control EQ in each channel. The 7080 has MAJOR power supply design flaw. Shorts out and entire power supply and circut board needs to be replaced
Summary: Received unit, plugged it in and it went "snap crackle pop"

Spoke to another person who had the same thing happen. Thire unit lasted about 5 hours before dying.

STAY AWAY. If yours does work the sound is like you put a blanket over your music and there is no way to adjust the sound aside from some VERY POOR DSP modes.

The remote is very hard to use. Don't waste your money or time on this BOAT ANCHOR.

Piece-of-Junk Hall-of-Shame

Strengths: None it's a piece of JUNK
Weaknesses: It blows up!!!
Summary: Opened the box, setup everything, plugged it in and a few hours later it DIED!!!

Dead!!! I see that others had the same issue.

Kenwood MUST know this thing is defective, WAY too many people are saying the same thing.

Now the company I bought it from ECOST says I have to contact Kenwood. Sounds like class action litigation to me.

Kenwood should upgrade EVERYONE for ALL the trouble, time and money lost!!!

This is a real piece of GARBAGE!!!! Don't buy it!!!!!
