Strengths: Nice Looking and clear sound.
Weaknesses: A little strong in Subwoofer. Loading time is a bit slow.
Summary: I thought the audio quality was fantastic. It's a nice, , balanced clean sounding system. The center is strong, the subwoofer is average but it is O.K in small living room. the front speakers are mighty powerful and the backend speakers provide fantastic sound effects, but you should adjust the delay time to get sound effects. All in all, excellent sound quality, no complaints here.

Strengths: Good sound (1000w), strong subwoofer, 5 disc changer, HDMI and upscaling (one of the few which does it, at a much better cost!) Elegant speakers
Weaknesses: Remote could be designed better (they should have included a mini-remote like they did a few years ago with the s-223 mid-grade single DVD player)
Summary: Overall, it's great--sharp on a Sony HDTV via HDMI, solid sound from any source, good switching between sources and sound modes (dolby digital, concert, stereo, surround, etc.) Has optical inputs, front speaker jack.

Contrary to another review I saw somewhere online, it appears you can do a disc change while the unit is playing. Solidly built, nice looking speakers. A good amount of speaker wire was included, but they use proprietary connectors to the unti, so any extensions should you need them would have to be on the speaker side. The fm wire could have been longer for me, reception is ok (my area has never been 100%)

Built in USB is excellent--used with a digital camera, a few USB thumb drives and a memory reader, worked fine (only one older thumb drive did not work, but isolated problem)

More about the remote--the fast forward/reverse took getting used to--the chapter skip needs to be held for 2x and then pressed again for 4x, 8x etc. up to 64/128x...

The remote also lacked an instant-replay button which my old mid-grade s-223 had--nifty feature, which rewinds 5-10 seconds and plays in one step button. Not a deal breaker, but would have made sense to include it.

You can put up your own wall-paper--either a DVD freeze frame, or picture via the built-in USB port. Up to three wallpapers can be stored at a time, and selecting between them is easy, just requires a quick "reboot". It's nice to have your own pic up instead of a Company's logo screen during disc loads and changes (although it is faster at reloading than my older samsung, and an older toshiba...)

Enjoy!

Strengths: Excellent sound for my listening area of 12 X 15 living room. Half volume is to loud but still krisp and clear. Easy to install, set up and use. Also easy to set up and use with my home theater
Weaknesses: The only weakness with this system was the speaker connections. I had 14 gauge wire from a previous system and this system uses Samsungs own proprietary connections to the receiver.
Summary: Over all I have no major complaints with this system.

It sounds just like being at the theater to me with clear sound at all levels of volume.

I pipe music from my home theater pc to it via the digital out and listen to it in multichannel audio.

As for the speaker connections I mentioned above this is not really a big deal for me.

I just cut the proprietary connections and spliced them into the 14 gauge I already had laid out.

No problems with static, popping noises or hissing.

I'm sure I can rig my own connections to the receiver to use the 14 gauge wire through out.

You will not be dissapointed with this system.

1 Star ReviewNo Video while watching DVDs
Strengths: Great Sound
Weaknesses: No DVD Video
Summary: DVD video flickers for about 2 seconds, and alternates between 2 seconds of video, and 2 seconds of blackness. The Sound is continuous. I have found other websites where consumers report having the same issues while trying to upconvert their DVDs via HDMI cable.
