Strengths: - Well-built - attractive - digital multiband tuner - sounds good
Weaknesses: - hard to hang from a towel bar - no AC adapter
Summary: 2006-07-11 16:26:21 We really like this unit. However, for now, it's still on the bathroom counter until we figure out how to hang it from a towel bar in the shower. Kinda' annoying. Also, it uses 4 "C" batteries, which are expensive if you want to get rechargeables. The unit's AC adapter is optional -- read that seperate and expensive.

Update: We attached a metal hook in the bathtub area above the tile (in a stud!) and hung the radio from that. Works great. Doesn't seem to eat batteries, too much, though CDs use more juice than FM.

Strengths: It's durable and has a great sound.
Weaknesses: It is a little bulky especially if you have a small shower.
Summary: The radio works EXTREMELY well. The waterproofing works very well--it's gotten soaked in the shower and works perfectly. The only downside is that it's a little large to hang from the shower head of a small shower. Other than that, an excellent buy with great sound.

Strengths: Top quality manufacturer; Plays CD's and has multi-band reception with memory tuning; Water resistant and portable for use anywhere....
Weaknesses: Does not play cassettes or 8 track tapes....
Summary: I bought this radio on the strength of the brand's quality and it's many features. The feature which I most value, and which is not available in very many radios, is the five memory buttons for AM, TV, Weather, and ten memory selections for FM. It was designed with special sealing to resist moisture and can even be used in the shower. It is very nicely designed, uses 4 "C" cells so it is portable, and it also accepts a 6 volt AC adapter... just don't use it near water. I liked it so much that I bought another one for a different bathroom. Give it a try, you'll like it.

Strengths: Clear sound quality, Not tinny..
Weaknesses: Cord to hang it in the shower is too short. I purchased a suction cup type holder to hang it up with.
Summary: I had purchased a different type of am fm cd radio for the shower and it was awful, the sound quality was very tinny and echoed in the bathroom. But this Sony radio is absolutely fantastic it has so many options and you can preset 25 radio channels. and the added bonus of the CD player, I have it in my shower and LOVE IT!

Strengths: Durable, great sound
Weaknesses: Can't select specific CD cut
Summary: This product does the job I wanted it to do, and does it quite well. No more blaring my radio from another room to get great music while I'm showering. It is a little bigger than I expected. The only fault I see so far is it doesn't appear I can select the song I want (haven't read the book yet). But I can at least select shuffle to get a variety. I have been getting it WET and no problem with the water! I love Sony.

Strengths: Works well, good sound quality, digital radio tuner, external antenna, water resistant.
Weaknesses: Havy. I wouldn't want to hang this off the shower head and damage the pipes.
Summary: A GREAT AM/FM/CD shower radio! Water resistant with good seals on the CD and battery compartment doors. The digital tuner pulls the FM signals in well; I don't listen to AM, so I can't comment, but I'm sure it would pull those in well too. There is a short wire external antenna that is rubberized and probably helps to pull in the radio signals. I don't use the TV tuner either; however, in Jan 2009, it won't be able to pull in analog TV broadcasts since all TV signals will be digital.

The radio is heavy in my opinion, and it may not be a good idea to hang it off the shower head, for fear of damage to the pipes.

I use rechargeable AA batteries with a adapters (AA to C). You should be able to find these adapters at a good electronics store or possibly on line somewhere. I paid $5 for a set of 4 adapters from Fry's Electronics.

The radio also has a 6V AC input. You'll just have to buy one from Sony or a universal AC/DC converter with a plug that hopefully fits.

Strengths: Nice big buttons and dials with a lot to presets
Weaknesses: No treble or bass control
Summary: This product is one of the best I could find on the market. The number of preset stations, along with weather, and TV make it a great multi-function system. Which is great when you are getting ready for the day. I would definetly recommend this one.

Strengths: Great Sound, Easy to Navigate Channels, Plays burned CD's well
Weaknesses: A little bit heavy
Summary: This radio is awesome for the morning shower. You save time by having digital tuning and the song is great. There are 10 FM presets so it makes it easy to navigate your favorite channels.
