Strengths: Excellent value and great reliability.
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I've been using this memory for about two years and just bought another gig of it a few days ago. I've used many corsair products over the years and definitely trust the brand. Everyone keeps bringing up the issue of not over clocking but if you were planning on over clocking your memory, you would know to buy PC2-5400 memory instead of PC2-5300 memory. I have bought this memory more than once and would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants a very stable computer.

2 Star ReviewNo Problems, Good Value
Strengths: Price
Weaknesses: Spotty compatibility
Summary: 2007-06-14 11:38:47 I've used the various Corsair ValueSelect modules for sometime now. With the desktop RAM, I've never had a problem until this set. One of the sticks gives memory errors on an Athlon X2 system (Dell C521). While this is the first problem I've had with ValueSelects on the desktop side, I had an issue with a pair of DDR2 SODIMMs for my laptop which makes me question Corsair's quality control on these. I will likely turn to Crucial next time.

Strengths: Price
Weaknesses: Packaging
Summary: This RAM is typical of Corsair's Value Select line. It performs as expected, but don't try overclocking it. The packaging is real weak so be sure to order it from a place with good shipping.

Strengths: Really speedy
Weaknesses: Heat
Summary: After searching for best options in DDR667, I settled for the 5300 for my home PC. Works fantastic in the dual channel mode and have had no problem thus far (too early to say). I have not overclocked the PC so the heat problem is very much controlled with this RAM. However, I can understand the concerns for over-heating for people who like to overclock.

Strengths: Quality Ram for a good price.
Weaknesses: None really, they work.
Summary: I wasn't looking for anything extravagent. I just wanted what would work and run in dual channel mode. I have used ValueSelect rams before and they do quite well. Multitasking and startups are real fast and games like battlefield 2 and counterstrike run real smooth. Great value indeed.

Strengths: Works well, great warranty, quality product, inexpensive
Weaknesses: Not 1GB each?
Summary: I bought these RAM sticks for a computer I built for my mother. The RAM works like a charm. The computer has experienced moderate use for 6 months, and it has yet to encounter any memory issues. While it isn't the fastest or most overclockable memory in the world, it works well for my purposes. If you're looking for inexpensive yet capable RAM, look no farther than Corsair ValueSelect.

Strengths: Price.
Weaknesses: None, based on price.
Summary: The value select line from Corsair has been very good to me. I don't overclock them though. I have not had any issues with this memory or other packages in the value select line.

Installation is simple, and the performance and reliability is fantanstic.

Strengths: fast, stable, and very cheap
Weaknesses: no heat spreader, not for oc
Summary: It works very well on my am2 computer, fast and stble. It has past the memtest for nearly 48 hours without an error. I love corsair, very reliable brand. Although this is a low end ddr2 667 mem, what can you expect more for the price! My computer configuration:

cpu: AMD 4200+

mobo: ECS nforce4m-a

mem: CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB)DDR2 667

vedio card: Asus Extreme AX1600PRO

DVD: SAMSUNG SH-S182M/BEBN

psu: ultra V series 500W

Strengths: easy to setup; compatible with all major motherboards
Weaknesses: limited chance for OC.
Summary: A good basic ram for a home/office use computer. I tried more aggressive dram timing setting, and it failed. So got what I paid for. not fantastic but not bad.

3 Star ReviewGood Value DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) If You Don't Plan to Overclock
Strengths: Good price, lifetime warranty, stable, comes in a 2x512MB pair good for Dual Channel operation
Weaknesses: No heat spreader, unable to operate at tighter timing, does not work stably at SPD voltage of 1.8v, must crank it up to 2.1v particularly for Socket AM2 Dual Channel
Summary: 2006-06-12 22:53:23 Thought I had problems with this memory and was going to RMA it but it turned out to be a motherboard/processor issue. This memory runs stable at JEDEC specs at 5-5-5-15 timing and the SPD on the DIMM allows the BIOS to auto detect the memory type. DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) memory is still quite pricey so this is a good interim alternative.
